Can't beat the sound of a terminator 💪🏻

For an everyday type car I'd take the S550 but as far as fun factor, the rareness and how special it is the Cobra wins hands down. Plus they sound so much better IMO. I would hate to drive mine on a daily basis but then again my suspension sucks lol

I'd take the Terminator Cobra every time, but not as a daily driver. If I could afford them both then it would be the S550 as a DD and the Cobra as my weekend warrior. But comparing them head to head, I prefer the mean American muscle look and neck snapping torque of the Cobra over the Euro styling, top end power of the Coyote. I am especially addicted to the visceral g-force pull of my modified Cobra. It brings a big grin to my face and warms my soul each time I punch the gas! Smiles per mile.

Been my dream car since I was a highschool kid. S550s are good looking and bad ass. Still would take the Terminator all day. Good video bro!

If your wondering which one to get just remember that only one of these projects was codenamed Terminator. You either have a terminator or you don’t, everything else is water under the bridge.

FACTS!!!

Having owned both and many others, performance wise, definitely s550. That chassis is amazing! (Not talking about drag racing, I mean real driving). But that 4.6 4v is one bad ass motor. I want another cobra so not hating. But it depends on whether you just want a street car that looks cool and maybe different, maybe do light to light stuff. Or do you want a car that performance wise is all around amazing stock. However either engine can make big power with simple upgrades.

I have a 09 V6 and I know it’s not a V8, but definitely understand being comfortable in a chassis. I’ve test driven a few S550s, but always went back to the S197. Eventually want to get a newer S197 or coyote swap my v6. My car has a lot of sentimental value, because my uncle rode in it with me before he passed away and I’m also 19 and it’s my first car! Love the videos!

Thank you! I love the S197 chasis myself. I had a 13' gt for a short period of time so I have a soft spot for them.

Audience, I'm thinking of purchasing a 2019 mustang gt used one owner with 4,982 miles. It would be my third add-on to my stable. I'm skeptical hearing about the coyote engine tick. Not really sure should I or NOT? Any opinions would be helpful... Thanks

Yea it's crazy how many people I see wanting to either trade or sell their coyote or even gt500s for a terminator. It's something special about them for sure

I have an '04 Terminator. I throw around the idea of buying a S550 or a 2013-14 sometimes. But always seem to just keep my Cobra.

Between a s197 and s550 id definitely go with the s550 as I've had both but I still put the cobra over the 2 👍🏻 the cobra just gives a different experience when driving it and hearing it.

@@loscar5oh u got it man....keep the content coming love the channel my s550 is an ecoboost, people are sleep on these cars, its fords grand national, fastest ecoboost ran a 9.8 bill putnam ecoboost, thinking about cop n the s650 when it drops, if i do i may go 3.5 ecoboost, i here its twinturbo hybrid, but time will tell man, far as my cobra got a teskid block built bottom end, e85, killer chiller, ported eaton, longtubes, x pipe, borla stingers, lowered with chrome cobra wheels, 17 x 10.5 out back.....color is silver, oil pump gears and aluminum radiator...far as my eco its stock, has the pony package, i only added the style bar, its a droptop

Just found this video. Good comparison, surprised so many in the comments would take the cobra. Totally agree, still have an 03 cobra i purchased in dec 2002. With just cold air and catback it dynoed at 405 hp and 400 ft lb at the wheels, so they were under rated!

I have a 2022 s550 pre-ordered but im second guessing myself for some reason! The cobra is my dream car but im a fan of any mustang! I just want a 400hp daily car and that being said I have some really good options!

Can't go wrong with the s550 🙌🏻. Enjoy it and perhaps you can own a terminator later on.

For tuning man try Chris out at dyno edge in Albuquerque NM. I see you have Texas plates and don’t know where you are from. But I drove 300 miles just to get it tuned by him guys legendary for tuning mustangs 👍🏾

Yeah I know the coyote gt is Great but I love the look of the Cobra and it can be very fast.

I love when ppl complain about the new edge interior lol. Like you said, it’s old and for the time period it was actually pretty nice. I came from foxbodies to my 04 cobra. Feels like a Cadillac to me!!

I guess I should buy the coyote but I won't. I'll buy the termi instead.

@@loscar5oh you're right, its safety regs. Cars have become so safe, you can barely see out of them anymore, so now they all have cameras and sensors lol. I find it both hilarious and sad. Thats why I only buy early 2000's era or older vehicles.

If your a casual and just want to get into mustangs to spice up your life then get an S550 good power, drive ability, easy to mod hassle free....... If your a die hard ford guy then get yourself an SVT Cobra.

I’d take price into consideration.. as a former cobra owner, it’s too late to buy one for a reasonable price or any iconic sports car.. I think if u bought anything right as the pandemic hit u fs got a steal on it otherwise ur overpaying

Yea that definitely plays a big roll. That's why I chose price as one of the top 5 things to consider. I got mine at a pretty good deal in January of this year and if I were to sell it now, I can probably get an extra 5k from what I payed for.

I don't care how much faster or pretty the new 5.0's are. i would step across the hood of one at a car show to look at a 03-04 Cobra.🤣

It's not faster...2024 runs a 12.5 Terminators ran 12 flat...so.. Hell, the dark horse runs 11.9-12.2 When you factor in the age of a Terminator, they are amazing cars

The Terminator Cobra puts you in touch with the power you can feel it it's an animal a beast where's the coyote is too defined and smooth and you really don't feel the power like you do with a Terminator

I bought a Terminator. The S550 is a much nicer and refined vehicle, but I just prefer the old school look and feel of the Terminator. I get tons of compliments in my Terminator because it's unique and not seen very often in 2024. S550 Coyotes are everywhere.

I prefer the interior and exterior of the Terminator cobra

There is a chance you can find a grandma driving a 5.0 but next to impossible you'd see that in a Terminator because they are all manual.

I had both bought both new the Cobra would get attention no one really cared about the 2011 5.0 are you remember there were similar feeling and speed. I lived in Vegas when I had the 03 Terminator. Whenever I was bored on my nights off and felt like drag racing which was a lot because it's addictive when you want a car like this all I have to do is Cruces streets at night around 11 or 12 I could find many drag races people loved racing my Cobra I never saw another one out there typical cars with pull up on me where's the fart can Hondas which were joke they would always give me thumbs down after I destroyed them Subaru wrx's would jump off the line on me by got to reel them in and one time a Camaro SS beat me because I forgot to ship shift out of first year it was such a close race I freaked out and didn't shift I think if I would have shipped to the second gear I would have won but Terminator was very exclusive everybody wanted me to rev the engine race them or just check the car out that my job they my new name was cobra it wasn't Ron I did not make that name but that's what they called me at work most leaving the Venetian one night at 3 in the morning we are getting off work and I'm Maxima tried to race me and make my boss I smoked his ass as we were turning from Las Vegas Boulevard on to Sahara we were both burning out around the corner then once we hit the straight away he was in my rearview mirror

Very good question. There are many things I took into consideration for this. The terminator has been a car that I've always wanted since I was a kid. To me they simply sound the best and just have a very aggressive appearance. Another factor is how rare they are. I wanted to own something special that people dont really see or know about. In my case, I use my mustang as a weekend car so I didn't care too much for creature comforts and modern tech found in the s550. I like how simple the cobra is from the interior. It has a much more of a mechanical feeling which to me is more enjoyable when driving. The last thing that pushed me towards a terminator was the value of the car. Terminators have been going up in value a lot and I felt right now was the time to buy one before the prices became too high for me to be able to purchase one. I can always buy an s550 but much harder to get a cobra. On paper the the s550 is a better platform, but as a mustang enthusiasts the reasons above us what lead me to get a terminator. Just to be clear, I did own both cars at one point. I had to let one go since I didn't see no purpose of having two nice sports cars at the moment lol.

If daily I would for sure go for 5.0… anything else would go Terminator. I have had a mildly modified Terminator and a bolt on 2015 5.0…. Would never buy a 5.0 again. They are cool but way too common. I’d go for a c5z or Terminator.

Thats awesome how you have both! 🙌🏻 i appreciate your point of view. I'd definitely choose my cobra over buying an s550, but would love to have both. I've rode in a full body on, came, turned c6 zo6 and that car was an absolute monster.

Terrminator hands down!

Not a fair comparison, if you wanna compare apples to apples compare it to a GT500. Can’t compare a forced induction to an N/A car. Downside to that comparison is the cobra doesn’t stand a chance.

That’s one very specific element of the car. There’s a lot more to it than the power or induction method.

To actually help a guy wondering this the coyote is better In every way possible. Cobras just can’t see past that weeeeeee noise that their car makes. So don’t let these videos or comments confuse you.

The video wasn't made to confuse anybody lol. I'm not sure if you saw the whole thing but I've owned both cars. As much as I love the S550, the terminator is still what I choose over it. Not because it's "better" it's just what I wanted most. At least in my perspective I didn't buy it just because of the whine 😂.

Because if it’s about the facts a terminator is a joke compared to a coyote for bang for your buck. A terminator with supercharger and forged internals can’t keep up with a stock coyote car, can’t handle as good, can’t be as comfortable and the list goes on so I just don’t want to confuse a actual buyer of the 2 cars with a bunch of feelings. I’m not hating on you so please forgive me if it comes of like that. The title made me think this video was gonna be about the cars Vs each other.

@Muhammad Baig no hard feelings taken man. I just wanted to be clear. Ofcourse I agree with you in that aspect. A coyote car has all the newer technology, so it definitely will be a much more efficient car in every aspect. I actually spoke well about the s550 I had. If I could have both I would, but for some people it may or may not matter for them if it has a better engine, chasis, suspension, etc. Either way thanks for your comment.
