OK until then 1st movt cadenza then suddenly we are in the realm of kitsch. (not even honest kitsch--just a "leg pull", sheer posturing!) Richter's playing is normally amazing but he was ill-advised here. If this cadenza is by Britten, it is 3rd rate Britten.
