I only ever had "friends" in elementary school, k-2nd grade. After that, in my second elementary school, 3-5th grade, my original "friends" stopped talking to me, and my "friends", at that time, did too. Didn't have a single friend in middle school, nor now in high school, junior year. Thank goodness, because now they're all cursing 24/7, changing their names, and cutting their hair like boys, meanwhile I'm still the same "D. Muffin".
