Suzuki V-Strom 250SX | How good is it?

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Hello!
The V-Strom 250 is not new and has been around for a while but has not set the market alight and is garnering only modest sales. So, we decided to take it our for a long test ride to understand it better and to see how and where it stacks up against the competition. Cheers!

Being a Vstrom rider for the past 7 months and putting over 14k kms on it, I can safely say it is a great tourer! and I totally agree with all the things said in the video. The combustion clutter is real but the engine love to be rev , and yes the clutter disappears. But one dealbreaker you missed out on the bike is the amazing mileage figure you can get from this machine, I've been getting 43kmpl on cruising on 80-110, heck I get 46kmpl while riding on 50-70 . It can go miles as a tourer without putting a hole in your pocket. One of the best pillion seat, low service cost and maintenance. Yes its not a "Adventure" motorcycle, The rear suspension is trash on bad roads unless you carry some speed into it, But the highspeed stability is just too good. It is easy to ride, even for girls, height is bit of the concern while moving around, but once you get used to it, its fine. I had a good discount on this when I bought it, it was like 2.40lks on road, which was a great deal considering its original price of 2.85ish (which is a bit overpriced btw). For those who love to travel I would easily recommend this!

@@RikinLokhandwala ill give you a brief on my entire service journey, My first service was entirely free, no parts change or issues. Second service just under 1k ( oil change). For the third service , it was the same, no parts change and no issues so far. 4th service it was 2600rs, because i changed out the oil to Motul 300v( which is expensive btw 1600-700 ish i think) and it was a paid service, only minor issue I had was some noise over unexpected bumbs, which was because my coneset was loose. And yes I changed out the air filter too. I take care of the bike pretty decently, no rust issues so far and believe it or not, the no of times i had to tighten my chain was just 3 over 14k kms. I use motul c5 chain paste. And clean the chain only with a chain cleaner. No issues on the chain side so far too. I use engine breaking and hence my pads give decent kms, pads at the rear are just near half of its life and at the front ive changed the originals at 10k ( which had half left) to ceramic ones for better bite, and kept the original as spare. I does well. And now its nearing its fifth service. My service period is early, i know, but i prefer that so that i have that peace of mind while im at middle of nowhere doing something crazy xD I do ride pretty hard and also a calm rider at times. And as of the clutch issue, i havent had any so far. And none of my friends reported anything similar too.

Well rounded thoughts. Being an SX owner here, one thing I would humbly digress is the moniker V-Strom just isn't carried over from the elder siblings for the sake of it. In fact, Suzuki in Japan, during the launch of the entire 2023 Strom series about a month or so back mentioned the moniker V stands for Versatility, as opposed to the obvious V engine what most think it actually is. Considering the versatility the SX offers, I think it thoroughly deserves the moniker V-Strom or simply V-Versatile Strom-Stream.. Versatile as a stream. :)

Too expensive for what it offers...and btw, I recently bought a Honda CB300F which is a very rare species😂... would be more than happy to lend it for a review if you're planning one😊

You could be right. And the 300F is indeed a rare species. There is a plan to hire one and review and if that doesn't workout, I'll ping you. Thanks. Cheers!
