    It’s a good idea to clean everything with brake cleaner before lubricating and reassembling. Torque specs are also important. Thanks for sharing!

    A good video. Just remember to have brake cleaner spray handy. He was using the same gloves to spread anti-seize and molly grease to push against the rotors, and you can see that he left greasy finger prints on the braking surface. Use the brake cleaner to get those finger prints off before installing the pads. Very useful video!

    Just a tip: put a lug nut back on the hub to hold the rotor down while you work. Also, you could install the brake pads back on the bracket first and then install the whole assembly.

    Do the scooped profiled rotors have a name please? My UK 2013 model has a worn pads warning lamp indicator in the instrument cluster. A Mechanic told me it only applies for the front discs & not the rear ones. On a previous a SX4 l had the front replacement pads seemed to last longer than the OMEs. SX4 v Suduci - which do you think is best please?

    Many thanks, especially for the removaL of the coils without disconnecting them from their cables, and also for the great tip of using them as plug grabbers. I just disagreed with dropping the new spark plugs into the holes, as the ceramic part could crack and the socket spanner may not be easy to align them with the cylinder head threads. I'd use the socket spanner to gently lower them in and start the hand-screwing.

    you didn't lube the sliders. common problem on my suzuki liana that uses sames brakes is 1 of the sliders is sticky and does not compress/expand freely, both sliders need to have their slider boots cleaned and re-lubed. +1 points thought for being the first youtuber to actually show and mention anything about opening the brake fluid reservoir in the engine bay and putting the rag around it.. once you start pushing the piston back into place the fluid level wil ltypically rise. I have not seen anyone else mention this basic check that should alsways be done

    Hi! Don't know if you're going to look at this post, the only thing I want to know is if the lug nuts are the same for steel wheels and alloy mag wheels. I changed my front brakes, and disk, and, in the same time, put back the summer tires on mag wheels, but the lug nuts seems a little small and rusty. Btw, I bought this Suzuki SX4 2007 a couple of days ago, and it seems that this car is quite what I was looking for for a long time. And for the mag wheels, it's that I dont want to put too much pressure on lug nuts and break the mag wheels. Thanks in advance.

    Do you need to add more brake fluid after some spills out from the reservoir?

  • @missfixitCanada

    @missfixitCanada

    4 жыл бұрын

    Keelan Bozman after you do both sides of the car pump the brakes a few times to get the piston back to the right spot, then check your fluid level. It’ll most likely be low. I’d top up after checking that.

    Yuri, is the process any different for rear brakes? I have a 2011 and it’s got disc brakes in the back as well. Does the parking brake get affected when you do the rear brakes?

  • @33billbert

    @33billbert

    Take parking brake off when you do it. After its all done, turn the car on (maybe chock the wheels), pump the brakes, put it in neutral, pump the brakes till they fine and then pull the hand brake up a few times until you feel it return to normal.
