Suzuki Samurai distributor housing O-ring oil leak fix and oil recommendation.

In this video, I fix a common oil leak issue on the Suzuki Samurai 1.3 L engine. It’s very common have the O-ring in the distributor housing go bad. I also talk about my favorite oil to run in these engines.

All of my Samurais have leaked from that o-ring, when I replace it I smear a paper thin coat of permatex ultra black in that groove to help hold the o-ring in place and to add a little extra seal, so far (knock on balsa) none of the ones I have fixed have ever leaked again, and the first one I fixed nearly 20 years ago first Sammy I ever bought I still have it she still runs and still no leak.

I do the same thing, but I use black Right Stuff RTV with the O ring when I put it back together

Do you recommend 10w40 over 10w30? Also, off topic. But is there a thermostat you prefer? Mine seems to stick partially open. Cheap oreilly one lol.

I’ve been running 10 40. Next change I might try 10 30 and see what oil pressure looks like.

@@ultra4suzukisamurai679 I've been thinking of using 10W40 to up my oil pressure on my 1.6L 16V swapped samurai. My oil light always comes on after I run it down the highway and come to a stop at a red light.
