Suzuki M109R Boulevard 2020 Black Edition, Review Ride, Jeff Ware

Фильм және анимация

We ride the iconic Suzuki M109R Boulevard, in Black Edition. At $19,790 AUD Ride Away, the 123hp, 160Nm 109cu Cruiser is good value. But is it still a great bike all these years on? It arrived in 2006 at $18,990 + ORC so is no more expensive after 14-years! It has no ABS and is old school but it is still fun...
2019 Suzuki Boulevard M109R Tech Talk
Suzuki's Boulevard M109R features a 1783cc 54-degree V-twin powerplant producing 160Nm of torque and 123hp and includes Suzuki Composite Electrochemical Material cylinder bore lining or SCEM, as well as Suzuki's Advanced Sump System (SASS) and the Suzuki Dual Throttle Valve system (SDTV) with dual 56mm throttle-bodies. A two-stage cam drive system also ensures a compact head design and lower centre of gravity, with dual spark plugs per cylinder and a 32-bit ECM.The engine includes black out engine covers, a large 9.5L airbox with dual intakes and a wide ratio constant mesh five-speed gearbox includes an overdrive style fifth gear ratio. A shaft final drive offers minimal upkeep requirements and transfers drive to the rear wheel.A high tensile steel double-cradle frame is mated to a cast aluminium swingarm with progressive linkage and rear monoshock with preload adjustability. Forks are USD 46mm cartridge items with 130mm of travel and are blacked out.Braking is taken care of by dual 310mm front rotors with four-piston Tociko calipers and a rear 275mm rotor with dual piston caliper from the same brand. Flat-bend drag-style handlebars are mounted via a pull-back riser to bring them back to a more manageable location for riders, with a low 705mm seat height. The fuel tank holds 19.5L of fuel, and mounts an analogue speedometer which requires a glance down, and includes an LCD odometer, tripmeters, fuel gauge and clock. A forward mounted instrument cluster in direct view include a digital tacho and gear position sensor, and sits behind the headlight cowl.

I’ve had my M109 since 2009 and watched dozens of reviews. And this is BY FAR the most accurate and comprehensive I’ve ever watched. Good job! Don’t know how you did it but you captured EVERYTHING good and bad about The Beast.

I like the m109r it is a very cool bike but I never was totally sold on the looks so I purchased the brother the c109rt I know they don’t make them anymore but you should do a cruiser review on the c109rt and see what you think because a totally love mine I would never sell it just a shame they stopped the model

Good review, this is the only review of the M109R that is worth watching (I have watched several). Most reviews of the M109R are from the perspective of either a new rider or a cruiser rider. It’s frustrating to listen to their bla bla bla about how much power it has (trust me it’s gutless compared to any sport bike, naked or even a Goldwing). Yes your Grampa’s Goldwing will out perform a M109R in just about every category (handling, acceleration, corner speed, ground clearance, flick ability etc) except low speed handling (parking lot speeds). Plus there also a good chance that the 55 year old on the Goldwing can out ride the newbie on the M109R. Unfortunately the M109R is a cruiser squid bike (you probably want to avoid all conversations with every owner unless you want to hear about how “badass” it is, and he is).

lol yes it does need a six.! Owned a 2014. I really missed the six gear, was sick of riding it in mid rev range in 5th gear for long haul country riding. gets really tiring.

Stock Dunlop rear tire is more flat in the middle giving the ride a feeling of riding the edge of a table top. Twitchy . Swapping to an old school Metzler 888 or equivalent is the cure.

I have a hayabusa and always wanted one of these to compliment it... but the price just seems too high; maybe more like 15k. A new R3 2500 is only slightly more cost and so much more performance.

I’ve always wanted one of these bikes I’ve always felt it would look good sitting next to my v-rod and v-maxx. The only thing I don’t like is the rider position is kinda dopey.

2nd gear failure was an issue with these, Suzuki wanted nothing to do with warranty, to fix it took splitting the crankcases, yep, that's right, crankshaft sat over there on the bench next to the pistons.....complete component engine stripdown
