Nice bike there fella, nice and calm and easy to understand tutorial too if anyone in the UK wants to change the oil on this bike. Thanks for the effort you put into the channel, not only hard graft doing the work but also filming, editing and uploading. Cheers. Thumbs up... watching from London.

Great video and good rundown! If you want to save time you can most definitely change the oil without removing the bottom guard. Both the bolts are accessible before removing the guard. It's also a good idea to open the oil cap on top of the frame first, to help the oil run out of the system quicker.

Bro you see that cylinder running down from the oil filter? The bolt at the bottom of it releases the oil in the filter chamber. If you empty that next time you won’t get oil all over your hands and the bike.

Thanks for the vid. Here's a tip for removing the oil pan bolt. After loosening the bolt put a plastic grocery bag over your hand when you remove the bolt with your hand. If you position the bag correctly it keeps your hand clean and catches the oil that might splash around when removing the bolt.

If you anneal a copper washer they last for many uses. Just heat it with a butane torch until it glows red, drop it in water, and it becomes very malleable. Nice and soft. When you torque it up, it squishes just right and forms a great seal, then it hardens in place through usage.

Hey Pouse nice video. A little tip. Use a bit of light grease on the o-rings. 1. It will hold it in place when you replace said items. 2. It will help create a more positive seal by ensuring you don not pinch the o-ring. And please call them sump plugs and not nuts! FAB. Ps. Good to see you are looking after the old girl. I'm sure the previous 23 owners didn't 😂

When doing the filter there is a drain screw below which empties the filter chamber. It’s at the bottom of the straight molding that runs down under the filter housing.

There is an oil channel with a bolt on its end. This is meant to bleed the filter housing and avoid the mess.

I screwed up and drained oil from the end of the hose instead of the frame bolt. I'll go back and open the frame bolt and drain it when the rain stops. Question is, what is that hose for and do I need to prime it, or just move on w the oil change? 2001 DRZ 400e. TIA

Just years of helping my dad build stuff when I was young, tinkering with cars and bikes, helping Big Pouse on his past properties, working on my past and current property, a few training courses etc. Also, if you need to pay a tradesman to do something for you, offer to labour, ask questions and learn from them. Then just a willingness to do and learn I guess. Thanks for watching.

Good choice. Such a robust bike, I love it. Good commuter, good off road (bit slippery with the SM tyres) and great fun on the road. I have more fun on that than a fireblade I used to own. I like the white, looks retro.
