Yeserday i did the same thing on my 2000 burgman 400. 18Gr DR Pulley sliders and 5 segments clutch and new belt. Nice upgrade, drives much beter and smoother and quieter now. I also smooth out the sharp edges of the varioplate this will make dr Pulley sliders last longer! Puls like crazy now ;-) no dips anymore Don't forget to spray a litle bit dry PTFE grease on te inside of the vario, varioplate and also on the the sliders. Thanks for your video's

Mitch, buddy! I just did this procedure after re watching this vid a dozen times first and learned something new I wanted to share here...maybe sticky this? If the clutch pads show lots of life on them still (like mine did), and the transmission surges just after take off (just like you say in the vid) than the issue is could be glazed pads and clutch bell. All I had to do was take some sand paper and scuff up the clutch bell and clutch pad mating surfaces for 5-10 minutes and it fixed the issue. Just needed some grippy scratches on the mating surface. $0.00 dollars spent.

Well, whenever you want to open the CVT housing, you should clean the whole thing. That means rubbing the variator, the half pulley, the clutch bell and the fly clutch shoes with sandpaper, in order to remove any glare or small metal pieces due to friction and high temperatures inside the transmission. And it is also good to take a brush and apply brake cleaner(it is the best cleaner since it evaporates fast and doesn't leave residue) inside the housing, in order to remove dirt, dust and metal pieces..

I would suggest displaying the service limit and current wear limit when measuring a belt. I also advocate in doing a transmission service a few times per year to get the crap out of there and inspect the shoes. I measured the clutch shoes on my Honda PCX125 2015 and they are just about in service limit at 2.5mm when official limit is 2.0mm. Not bad for 40,000 miles and from factory. I bought brand new.

@@almikelipscomb That's actually great news. I didn't know a Fly Clutch makes the ride so much smoother. I only thought it helps with uphills and when riding with a pillion. My Kymco X-Town 300 has a clutch with 3 shoes and Malossi makes one with 5 shoes, so I believe it will perform better. I really want to reduce RPM, since at 120 kph (which is around 75 mph) I have 7300 RPM which is a lot !!

Mtch, I have watched several of your videos on scooter CVT's. Right now I do not own a scooter, but I'm looking at Burgman 200 scooters. Are there any hop up parts for the BUrgman 200? Like different weigth rollers fot the variator so it "up shift" sooner, lighter clutch springs so the clutch will engage sooner.and what ever else would help. If I buy a Burgman 200 I will be riding two up most of the time with my wife on back. We rarely go faster than 60 to 65 mph but I don't want to wait for a mile and a half to get there, if you know what mean. I don't care if I ever go past 75 or 80 and the videos say even the 200 can run 85 to 90. I just want good performance from 0 to 65. You know a lot more than I do, so what do you suggest and where can I buy the parts?

i just bought my 2009 and hear tapping on the cvt cover. is it the belt doing that? i will take apart to see. but it vibrates and bike on acceleration too. im thinking i might need to change the belt, rollers and the pads just to play it safe. but just wondering on this. will take the cover off soon to inspect.

Many of the parts links are no longer working or the products are not available. What will this cost to do in parts? Are there cheaper high quality options available? Thanks

Hi Mitch. I tried changing the belt on my 2018 Burgman but was really struggling to get the front variator (the outer most side) fully seated on the spindle. I needed to get the belt to ‘ride up’ the variator a little. How were you able to spin your front variator so freely as mine didn’t seem to want to move hardly at all! Cheers.

Hey, on driven pulley, pull the front outer pulley up and push belt further inside then install on the bike then it will give you room to push variator all the way in on shaft to touch the spacer

    I. Have a trike kit on my k7 burgman just bought hitclutch and bando belt with 18g sliders. Had to buy oem torque spring and clutch bell. I hope this all improves my riding and lower rpm at highway speed. Any suggestions on slider weight to go eith would be nice? Bike weight with me on it is about 750 pounds any suggestions on trans setup would be appreciated.

Hey, you could do the same way like in this video but 200 and 400 don't use same parts :( 200 parts are little smaller than 400's
