    Lovely bandit, I agree you can't beat old school Suzuki muscle, I've had my mk1 since 05, when my daughter was born in 07 I didn't have much time to ride so I parked it up 10 years later the old girl was still under the dust sheets in my garage. I started getting her ready over the last few years and I finally got it back on the road a month ago, forgot how much fun it was, they are just pure beasts 👍

    Hi Justin , I finally got caught up on some of your previous videos. Seems like you rescued Suzi from a life of abuse just in time. I think shes in good hands now though. I can recommend jacking the rear up 20mm, Its easy and cheap to do, improves the handling and attitude.

    Hi Brian. Thanks for stopping by. Thats a cool project you have going on . The `94 must look great with the clunky radiator gone. GS1200XR maybe. I had an `89 GSXR750 a few years ago , fitted a Katana nose and seat unit. It looked great, but I sold it on because it was the short stroke engine and was far too revvy for me. That wee bike would have been ideal for the 1200 engine. Ah well. Good luck bud. Stay safe......:)

    @@johnsnowsghost You too as well. I'm an old fart on SSI. So progress is slow. But If you like to see it. I posted it on here . The first day I got the bike running. Have to write in 94 GSXR with 1200 Bandit motor. It should pop up. I'm painting it the same color getting the same cheepo faring.Theres 1\8 inch. Room from the front down tubes of the frame .1\2' from top valve cover to the backbone. The motor . Can't slide back any farther. The only reason I pulled it off. I found the everything you see in the video to get it to this condition . On Craig's for 200.00 bucks. The The 750 motor still runs but need rings. I'm putting that in a 66- 67 Karmin Gia I got for 40.00 thinking mid engine straight axel chain drive go kart. Thanks Jon nice talking to you.

    Outstanding, heard the 1200, had more mid range torque, than the 1250 Bandit, but my late beloved fuel inj.650 Bandit??? Best bike eve,r and I ain't even lying, Bandit time Perfect Storms, AMAZING. Felt like an industrial catapult got it away, bit like an unarmed Exocet , Sidewinder missile. All the best, Professor Bandit fuel inj.650 B.T.E. out. A Phd in Bandit Torque Enjoyment only, nothing technical. Hopefully only a semi retired Banditateer fekkin Banditaholic. Ruined for any other bike, 58, 59 times more biking joy than in 84, my nearly new GPZ 750 turbo, kicked it's pants countless times, heard first production bike any size, to do the standing quarter mile in 10 seconds, OH FOR A HEALTHY BANDIT.

    Hello. Yes I still own the Bandit. No issues at all, touch wood 🤞 I don`t find the weight a problem, I think that the small jack up kit on the rear helped with cornering a lot. But lets face it it`s not going to corner like a sports bike. 👍 Cheers.

    Nice one T V...... Yeah , about the clutch, someone else pointed that out recently. The clutch switch wiring inside the lever housing has been modified by a previous owner. This is my first experience with the Bandit so I had no idea the clutch had to be engaged before starting. I have not opened the housing to see exactly how it `s done yet. Might make a good topic for a future video. Cheers .

  • @johnsnowsghost

    @johnsnowsghost

    3 жыл бұрын

    Good question Ian. I guess a little bit of both. Folks of a certain age ,like myself, grew up with carbs. Modern fuel injected bike are not easy to work on, to many electronics . And parts are also expensive. Although I do have the SP which is awesome, so personally I am not biased either way. Probably just nostalgia and the fact that nice low mileage Bandits are getting rare. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.😎

    Perhaps the reason they are appreciating is that bikes are not made like this anymore. The 1200 Bandit has useable unrestricted low rpm power unlike some modern roadsters. They look like a motorcycle should as are not covered in plastic styling excess as a way of differentiating from the competition. Maybe there is only so much styling you can do with 2 wheels and an engine, most of which has already been done.
