    I wish I knew this when I removed my stitches. I’ll definitely keep that cutting method in mind next time I have to remove stitches from myself, not dragging the outside parts of a suture through the skin is a helpful tip!

    In my opinion, both directions are probably equal in how much tension is put on the skin as it is removed. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    Hi Charlize, thanks for watching and for your comment! I use a couple of different suture pads, but the one I used in this video is from SurgiReal. I have no financial connections to the company; I'm just a pleased customer. This is the one I have: surgireal.com/collections/suture-training-kits/products/small-6-layer-suture-training-kit

    Hi Dshaye Bailey. It depends on the type of suture that was used. Most of the time, simple lacerations are closed with a visible suture that does not dissolve and needs to be removed days later. Sometimes, providers like myself may choose to us a dissolvable suture, which would not need to be removed. So it depends on the suture material that was used.

    You are supposed to pull the suture across the wound so as no to open the wound

  • @minimedlessons

    @minimedlessons

    2 жыл бұрын

    I’m going to push back a little and disagree. If the wound is at risk of popping open based on which direction you’re pulling the sutures when removing them, you’re removing the sutures far too early and they should stay in a few more days.
