The Sim*Suture Module will help the learner practice skills of simple interrupted and running suture, instrument tying, vertical mattress sutures, and running subcuticular sutures. As with all our modules, practice outside the simulation lab is encouraged with the availability of all necessary supplies: suture pad (with printed lines to guide placement of sutures), surgical instruments, and suture material. The exercise book provides the opportunity for the learner to practice in any convenient locale. Enough suture material is provided to place over 250 single needle passes. The time required for this module is about 4-6 hours. Curriculum offers opportunity for formal objective skills assessment (OSATS) when the module is completed.

Hello, I am a 17 year old Male, attempting to replicate these sutures for fascination, and learning purposes. I do not possess a suture kit, or traditional suture tools, relying on the skin of an eggplant for a model, and a sewing kit for tools. I would Certainly appreciate any guidance that may be given, and have benefitted from this video. I am grateful.

They typically only cover stitches for the first couple of days, then let them breathe for a week before taking them out on day 10, so you see them for 7/8 days and it is nice to see a clean, crisp suture rather than sloppy work from someone who has been rearranging your internal organs ime

It will be a scar for the entire life, you dumbass, so every time the pacient looks at it, she or he will think about your stupid face and shaky hands

@@ElaMihaela1985 what he meant to say was in running stitch a diagonal or a parralel stitch doesnt matter. The healing is going to be same . Scar formation depends on length beteeen stitches and whether ur apposition is good and wound care . Dont assume that if suture looks good outside it wont leave a scar , it just 2 different techniques thats all.

  • @ichigokurosaki8980

@@grouch314 he meant the parallel and diagonal stitches. Its just 2 diff techniques just because u do aprralel and it looks good outside doesn't mean diagonal stitch will leave a bad scar. In parallel stitch u leave the diagonal part of suture underneath the skin thats all.
