This is probably one of the best suspension setup video's I've watched. I love how the focus is on setting it up to the rider. Notice how he glossed over sag/air spring rate and said that will change based on how hard you're pushing the bike. Explaining how he gets balanced and focusing on no compression unless needed to adjust ride high in certain sections of trail is huge. Much much better than the other sag/rebound/compression setup videos.

While I'm certainly no novice when it come to suspension setup, I still really enjoyed this..... Great info, laid out in easily to understand terms and the interviewer didn't interrupt with a bunch of useless replies. Well done guys!

love his honesty. "don't use that" (the high speed compression on the fork). saying you should try to get the air pressure and volume spacers to do the work of getting it balanced and correct before you start using compression. Good stuff

This is the best technical video I have seen in quite some time. Chris Porter took a deep dive into the material rather than just handing out factory spec. guidelines. Although he suggested baselines he explained what to look for while adjusting for terrain/surface and rider style. Great explanations! Thanks so much! That was a true Master Class.

Here I an one year later to seccond that. I would like to add that the reporter was great by staying silent and letting the master teach, his tone overflows knowledge and commands attention with ease... beautifull... as a newbie learned so much from this great video... I'm watching this 2 years later, still spot on.

Great video, Im a return mountain biker after an 18 year gap. Sooo much to learn. My other bikes were coil so good to get an understsnding. Ive had to learn all the riding skills again so Im not very agressive out on the track. I was only using half the travel from other recommended setups. I see now that I need to set it up for me and by current riding style. Thank you for this, great vid!

How amazing would it be to have him setup our bikes! I've got missed feelings after watching this video. On one hand I now realize just how amazing a proper suspension setup it. On the other hand I'm wondering if I will ever even come close to knowing enough to get my suspension dialed in. Even if I think my suspension is dialed in today I'm going to wonder if it could be better. Great video!

Ok, I weigh 95kg 100 at most. I ride a Giant anthem 2015 27,5 120 F 90mm R. I ride everything actually on this bike. I find it hard to hop a 10cm street curb without hitting denting my rear wheels. It's annoying. I know it's my tire pressure and suspension setup. What do you guys suggest? I currently run 95psi front and 235psi-240psi in the rear shock. rebound is one thing I don't understand. the rear is very slow just 2 clicks to fully open/slow and the front on fork is like halfway/12clicks (21 clicks altogether) I run 2.2 rear TR tires 38psi when dry and 28 in wet conditions 2.2 front 35 dry 26psi wet.

He's just charging the negative chamber, so it's fine. When setting sag, you can also just unscrew the pump so that it disengages from the valve core, but leave it attached to the shock to save time.
