She is on the autism spectrum, NOT brain damaged. Autism is an inability to have social skills and read social cues.

I never really liked how people refer to Susan as an unlikely superstar. She is such a kind humble gal who deserves every ounce of respect. Her voice blew us all out of the park.

Her manager isn’t given enough credit in the sense that he was there for Susan when she was upset at 41:20 he instantly hugged her and comforted her. I think its so amazing how much he genuinely cares and doesn’t get frustrated with her especially as she has a disability. It’s just so heartwarming.

Susan is lovely, a real person, not full of herself, and she remembers from whence she came. I have nothing but admiration for her. Susan Rocks!

Susan Boyle is obviously very intelligent and is way beyond any of us in her understanding of life. She is very sensitive and perceptive...and very down to earth. As one fan said, 'She radiates goodness'. And Susan Boyle is REAL and GENUINE even in spite of fame and fortune happen.

Susan is a real inspiration to autistic people, including me. I'm glad she's using her voice to show the world we aren't a lost cause just because of a social disorder.

I love Susan's voice. When a CD of her music was being sold at a pharmacy here in Florida, l bought it and gave it my sister for Christmas. She loved it. I lost my sister when she was 59 yrs old. She really enjoyed Susan's voice. I'm glad Simon took time with her.

@@MaryAnn-pd3pm Thank you, Mary Ann. She and l were friends as well as sisters. I'd go over to visit her and we'd listen to her CDs of Diana Ross and sing along to the music. She had a bad Aortic heart valve but we didn't know it. When l'd take her grocery shopping her lips would turn pale blue so I'd give her a magazine to read while l shopped for her. Then l'd have her sit in the car while l loaded the groceries in, then l'd drive her back to her apartment and get her on the couch lying down while l put her groceries away. I miss her.

Simon may get some criticism, sometimes justified maybe, but I think it's clear he works to be a decent person. I feel hopeful that he wants to make sure people he works with are not taken advantage of, something that happens often in the entertainment industry.

The man with her is her manager Andy Stephens. He was appointed by Simon Cowell to manage her. He previously managed U2 and George Michael and as such has great experience in the music industry. The consensus opinion is that so far he has done an excellent job. Susan would be lost without him.Hope this helps.

My father loved music.He was in his mid nineties when he first heard Susan Boyle on Britains Got Talent. He could hardly wait to tell me about her. He bought her DVD and played it for the rest of his life. It gave him so much pleasure. He always said if he had his life again he would devote it to music. Thank you Susan.

Such a beautiful voice! I love that she still lives in the house she grew up in and is keeping everything so simplified. Who needs a castle anyway. She is such a fun, down to earth person, with a great personality and it shows. She makes me smile. Love her Posh house too. Don't ever change Susan.

What an incredible story. I think it was a blessing that her success came at a later stage in life, after she went through all the bad experiences. That kept her humble, grounded to reality and very much relatable to people around her. She was mature enough to handle the fame, much better than many famous youngsters of today's society.

The most hauntingly beautiful sounds that are ever heard are created by those whose souls have been tested in the crucible of cruelty. Take a long look into the childlike eyes of Susan Boyle in photos as a child and later as an adult and they will show that she passed through that crucible early and often in her life. Then listen to the heartfelt sounds that come out of her mouth and see yourself brought to your emotional knees every time. That is the real power of 'love' in her. She took it all for decades, right up to and including the sneers and jeers of thousands as she stood on stage that fateful night, and then she opened her mouth and 'loved' her enemies (detractors) to death. Prejudice had trapped them all and she knew it. So, with a little wry smile she opened her heart and her mouth and brought the thousands present to their feet even as they were emotionally falling to their knees from that power of forgiveness and love that was coming from inside of her. She had trapped the guilty and then set them free all in the space of a 4 minute audition that night and, in the end, showed the world the visible image of "hope" when there wasn't much hope to be had back in those dark days. I know it's true because she did just that for me at a time when I needed it most. God Bless You, Susan Boyle.

Soon enough, we find out that both good and evil await us in many unexpected places and at unexpected times along our journey. Years pass like a fleeting wind flowing across the sands of time. As the long decades pass, we often think of those days of our youth and contemplate the worth of our days. Time has a way of showing the marvelous handiwork of our lives through the ebb and flow of our experiences, especially through those who have suffered the greatest afflictions along the journey of life. That very last segment at St. Andrew's -- probably the most moving thing I've seen in a long time. Beautiful evidence of the innate goodness in people. We would all be much better if we allowed ourselves to act from the heart.

She is blessed to have people who really care about her. She's had a hard life. I can relate, as i was bullied as a teenager for a medical condition I had no control over. I had a few good friends to help me through. I lived with two other families while in High School because of the violence in my own family. First my big bro' left home, then me. I ran away from home to escape all of this misery and to find my dream of living in California with my people (activists like my self) people who cared about things I cared about. I decided to have a happy life and to raise my own children completely different than the way I was raised. My three children all grown and a 21 yr. old grandchild, bring so much happiness to my life. I also have always loved music (like Susan does) and it is a big part of my life. I go out to see live bands, so many different genres I could not count. I can't find all of them where I live, but there is quite a bit of diversity. I've had friends from all over the world. My own family (the one I created) is diverse as well. I've done better than I would have thought. I adore Susan; she is a very special woman. She has brought a lot of joy to millions of people all over the world. I will never forget that first audition when she melted Simon Cowell's heart, and captivated so many others.

Such a beautiful, deeply-touching, and meaningful story and film. I'm so happy that Susan is able to let people into her life in the way shown by that party with the women toward the end although I can see that it's not easy for her. I'm glad she appears to be in good hands, management-wise which also offers appropriate support when needed.

I feel blessed now because I saw something on KZread ,2012, and I have no words that can express how I now feel when I can both see and listen to you-Susan. I really loved the video/documentary. O stumbled across it and was compelled to watch it. So glad I did. I saw another video with Simon Cowell talking about her and he was dead on about what he said. With all of the people in this world that got famous for doing nothing or with little talent and who really don't deserve it, she is a ray of light to show that sometimes the good ones really win in the long run. She deserves everything she has and obviously doesn't take it for granted. What an amazing uplifting story!!!

Susan is a true gem to the entertainment world where most of the artists today are full of it. But Susan stays true to herself and most importantly she remembers where she came from. That was truly wonderful. I watched the beginning of Susan's journey; from amazement of that beautiful voice to concern when it became obvious that she was struggling through to the joy at how America took her to their hearts. I hope that Susan never forgets how many people loved her simple honesty - no pretentions, no diva hissy fits, just a lady who doesn't want to be lonely any more.

Susan is amazing she was the one who made me audition for the x factor in 2012 i got through to the third stage only nnot the fourth stage but it is a wonderful experience i had.

Since the time this video was first broadcast, it was learned that Susan has Asperger's. All the more to be inspired by this story!
