Master Yandi 释延荻法师
NEW Master Yandi is holding live classes in Vancouver Canada! Go to www.shaolincanada.org/register
Master Yandi is a Shaolin kung fu master from the Shaolin Temple. He is now spreading his teachings in Richmond Canada. Learn more about Shaolin culture and Master Yandi: shaolincanada.org/ or email info@shaolincanada.org
Master Yandi is the Abbot and Headmaster at Shaolin Temple & Cultural Centre of Canada located in Richmond BC. The Shaolin Temple of Canada is a non-profit society and an official extension of Shaolin Temple & Monastery of Hanan China. He entered Shaolin Temple at the young age of 8 and has been training ever since. Now Master Yandi aims to help students and disciples of all backgrounds and cultures in their quest of compassion, physical & spiritual fitness, and enlightenment through its teachings. Go visit their website if you want to learn more.
Today is my final test to become a Shaolin disciple. I need to perform all the skills I learned in the last 30 days in front of the Shaolin Master Yandi. If I pass all eight tests, I get the Shaolin robe and I will become an honorary Shaolin warrior monk. I say honorary because I need to train at the actual Shaolin temple in China to become a legitimate Shaolin disciple.

For those of you who don't know, Shaolin kung fu is one of the oldest and hardest forms of martial arts. Shaolin monks are Buddhist monks that practice Shaolin Kung fu as apart of their meditation. A lot of MMA and other martial arts originated from Shaolin kung fu. You may have seen many MMA fighter vs Shaolin Monk videos on KZread. Shaolin masters can develop crazy abilities like iron fist, extreme flexibility, and the ability to run on water.

Somehow how videos are hilarious to watch! In the previous video, talking about meditation to calm the mind then an advertisement to watch news in the morning which is like, the opposite. Or promoting anti-hair-loss product in a video about admiring a form of art and life of monks that shave their heads who would probably tell you that looks do not matter. The advertisements seem so misplace yet your promotion is so smooth, gets me every time! You developed well your form, you can be proud of yourself! Don't worry too much about the splits, it's hard and takes time. Most important thing is not to hurt yourself overstretching. Great that you have found such a great teacher and well done in learning your new skills! :)

as a 7 year kung fu disciple, the staff isnt hard at all. i’ve practiced a staff form called yin shou gun not too long ago and it was pretty easy, you just need practice and it’ll be extremely easy

It's a bit unfair as people have different anatomy, intra limb ratio, leg to body ratio and all of this affects how these are done. Consequences can be muscle stiffness increased for some. Lack of internal or external rotation etc

Excellent hafu, i can do split and bridge. Don't worry it's all about practice, for dancing sessions I used to do a lot of practice day to day of these sets. So it's all about practice continue your practice you will do split too. 😊😊✌️✌️
