    Protip: Glorantha has settings for all kinds of cultures, it's really only the Orlanthi that live the bronze age vibe, most of the rest of the world considers them a bit backward and savage. There are cultures that are effectively sci fi just with 'magic' as technology. Hell they technically even have a spacefaring culture.

A true labor of love across 3 decades.

    Take time to consider the options, when the events pop up. Many times you appeared to simply choose the first option, without giving a seconds thought to the implications. those rushed choices often were detrimental for your Tribe. The right choices were glaringly obvious, only requiring a second or two of consideration to realize this fact. Making rushed choices is never a good thing. If you're playing this game, just take the time to consider all your choices and there implications. Otherwise, those same rushed choices are likely to bring an end to your Tribe. Sometimes those choices will turn out well, simply by chance but more often they will come back to bite you.

    @@lothiaskane2614 There's an interesting lineage of changes that came with the mobile version, and in essence the steam version is a port of the mobile. The key thing is the heart engine of the whole project is still, I am not joking, the same framework as they used in KoDP in the 90s with almost no engine updates. We lost some things like the fyrd overview map that never came back, but all in all I like the UI for what it needs to be, but being an ancient gamer I am more tolerant to aesthetic jank. Some of the jankiest games out there have been some of my favorites. I'm just beyond thrilled that KoDP's re-release was appreciated enough to fund Six Ages

    King of the Dragonpass Vibes. Instantly. Totally looks like a sucessor of it. :-) Though in Dragonpass the immersion broke when I decided to play a war tribe and realized that other tribes are immortal, can be raided indefinitely and you still get loot out if it.

    The Six Ages games are also developed by A Sharp, yeah. You can force enemy tribes off their land but it's not a genocide simulator, aye.

  • @testales

    @testales

    17 күн бұрын

    @@Wlerin7 It's not about genocide, it's about realism and simulation. If you raid another tribe too hard the remains could simple merge with another tribe or move to a different part of the world, like really out of reach and so leaving the current game scenario. Also if an another tribe raids your people and takes all food when winter is coming, your tribe is screwed too, it's just slow death. A good game gives you options to get out of such situations or prevent them entirely without making it too easy and obvious. I mean there are prettier and less complex games out there for those who prefer pony farms.

    tried it out, just not for me. Sent out 2 foraging parties with extra heavy patrols lost them both in year 2. Recruiting dried up so only got 1-2 swords back from each recruit. Lost wayy wayy too much on something so simple as foraging. While having some rng in these types of games makes them interesting, there was just too much of it for my liking. Something simple and logical like looking for food losing 2 leaders and most of my forces in the first few turns was just nuts. These games usually snowball so a big loss at the start means you lose in the end. idk seems cool, but I feel like the basics should be a bit more straight forward if they want to go crazy on the rng in the weekly events or exploration places and ambushes sure, but if I choose to take a turn to do something, I feel like it takes away from player agency for the game to say no

    Yep. Another from the series of: No matter what you do, its always bad choice simulator because we coded it that way and you cant do naught to do better - The Series.

    Is this more like 6 ages 1, or King of Dragon pass? I disliked how scripted 6 ages 1 was. Losing because a single event roll failed is not fun.

    they should advertise this as a sleep aid instead of the stupid pillow commercials. The art is amazing at least.

    They went 2 steps backwards on the original king of dragon pass. they really need to hire a art director, at least an UI artist worth a damn

    Six Ages 2 is fun but for whatever reason it removed the noble families from the game, which seems strange as it could have been a really interesting feature, balancing the different interest groups in ur clan.

    Essentially the royal factions took their place as something to manage. (And with the clan history, the seven families can’t have the same importance over a hundred years later.)

    @@ASharpLLC thanks for the response. I do like the royalists vs realists. I would have liked to see the family system somehow worked into providing more depth for the nobles class.

    Love Offir in that first event, suggesting simply "Kill them"
