We decided to take on Storm Gerrit at the top of Glenmore mountain and it did quite go to plan and something ripping off the van!

    It's a good idea to face your vehicle into the wind. I'm a truck driver in the US and always try to do this when parked during storms that have high winds. It gives the wind less area to push against. Great video! ❤

    @livinginkevlar You have the 722 five speed gearbox, with the manual holds for 1-4 plus 5th D. Semi automatic gearboxs are physical manual gearboxes with an automated clutch. They were the first automatic gearboxes on the older model. They were god awful to drive. Thankfully when the 906 came along, they fitted the regular 5 speed auto you find in all the V6 Mercedes. I could see you were using the manual holds whilst driving down that snowy steep road, so it's good to know the van and Agilis tyres did well. You manual holds are actuated electronically via solenoids in the gearbox, as I just had the joy of refurbishing my gearbox, as I have the 2011 version of the Met Riot van.

    I never understand the ignorance, arguably arrogance and most certainly the complete dislocation of expectation, with folks driving in UK, especially during the Winter and especially in Scotland. No winter tyres, as saving money appears more important than saving lives, which winter tyres do, so instead, to save money, they believe all-season or summer tyres with snow chains will suffice. Learning and educated in how to drive in different conditions from heat, rain & floods, to ice with snow and then heavy snow, should be part of learning to drive, as well as learning, when to keep off roads. If there was a fire in a house, most people get out & the Fire Brigade go-in, so why do drivers, out of ignorance, though often arrogance of choice, drive into bad weather with no training or skills? Complete utter crazyness and stupidity, but some will do anything for a KZread video and then use-up tax payers money by getting rescued by emergency services, or as a minimum, blocking access and roads for emergency services. I feel sorry for the locals that live in these areas and have to deal with those visiting with no idea. So please, for your own safety and that of the emergency services, if you don't like driving in these conditions, especially without the right knowledge, training and experience, as well as the correct rubber on your tyres or correct rubber on windscreen wipers for winter, along with all the other things i will not list here for winter driving, then stay at home or stay South for the Van Life types. Then everyone stays safe and less tax payers money is needed to be spent rescuing numpty's.

  • @livinginkevlar

    @livinginkevlar

    I guess it goes without saying that we didn’t contact any emergency services in this video, and that I chose a time to drive down the mountain that I was totally comfortable with - after the snow started melting, and before it froze (as explained in the video). Honestly, friend, it seems like you may need to avoid watching videos that are going to trigger you so much, you’ll be happier that way. Thanks for the engagement on the video though. 👍🏼

    Are you a dog owner? If a dog has plenty of physical and mental stimulation, and are well trained, they spend most of their time asleep (a healthy dog sleeps around 14 hours a day). It's also far more enriching for dogs to have wider experiences, with each day bringing different walks & outdoor time (rather than the same handful of walks on repeat, which is typical for most dog owners constricted to one location). Our dogs are perfectly happy and healthy, thank you.

    Haha some people! Jeeez, my dogs are never happier when they are in the motorhome , plenty of walks , new places to discover. A Dog isn’t a human it doesn’t need a 3 bed semi to live in , saying that nor do humans
