Surviving off our catch with HUGE LURKING SHARKS | Over The Top S2CH.16
When things look very grim in our fridge, we are thankful we can survive off our catches from the ocean. We are on a mission to the most Northern tip of Australia, however, we make a rest and refuel stop at reef before getting a warm welcome from some friendly locals.

Cheers legend! Welcome aboard
Whoo hooo back on the great northern blue highway. Yay!!
Hey we don’t know how far you are on this trip but we found the crossing across the gulf of carpenteria from the Torres Strait to Gove to be the worst trip and wished we had gone further south into the gulf because the direct route was bloody rough with square waves from both directions and unpleasant whereas our friends went further south into the gulf and had a great trip .
I’d say the sharks hang around the boats because commercial fishing boats throw their waste fish overboard 💁
Fab! You should start a FOOD Channel. Stay HEALTHY & Happy Cruising!
Another awesome video thanks for sharing your travels, truly inspiring.

Do not use driftwood for cooking or beach fires, it releases very dangerous chemicals
Enjoyed that episode, good shot with the spear gun for a quick kill. Thanks for the tips on the tuna preservation.

Hahha! glad you got satisfaction out of it, even if you're not a fan of it 🙌😂
You can hand feed the lemon sharks, we catch mullet in the cast net and feed them with those. I was interested in the time you cooked the tuna for canning, i see thats a fairly common recipe, but it makes no sense to me, fish is cooked at 50-53ºC so it should only take 10-15mins to poach in gently boiling water. I dry cure a lot of tuna too, thats a great way to preserve it also.

Yeah ok, yeah right, I just followed a recipe the first time I did it, and it said to boil for that long. Not too sure, maybe it's about reducing the fishy taste to it? not sure...dry curing tuna would also be a cool thing to try! Next time 😊
👍for the algorithm

Those sharks are so friendly. - i wonder if the brine discharged from a watermaker is good for preserving mack tuna?

You put your tuna in a sterilised jar and then stuffed it down with your bare fingers? That will just add the germs you killed by sterilising!
