SURVIVING A UK HEATWAVE in a Campervan.
After leaving South Gare, we headed back to a park up we've been too before, to get ready for the UK heatwave. The UK is about to experience a heatwave like experienced back in 1976 with temperatures due to hit 40 degrees plus on Tuesday.
I decided to document and vlog our 4 days parked up on the Yorkshire Moors and how me and Archie survived in our self converted campervan.

@@PackTheVanAndGo I haven't been great, had cardioversion on my heart ( got zapped with electroids) am loads better now, went to Van Fest Stratford upon Avon, it was ok, but not as good as overlander, got an eco flow which was a huge game changer for us. Take care, big hugs for Archie ❤️🚐🐕

Archie is the man ❤ well done for getting through it. We used a spray bottle to use on da belly and cold flannel on the pads to keep our hairydale cool 😎 they are definitely much happier in snow. Take care, much love to Archie love Abbey and me xx 🐾🐾🐕☮🥰

Great on Rob. God did the media go for it haha. In 76 it was go out and enjoy it but with stand pipes in the street. It's the pets I feel for, some people just don't understand. Keep up the wonderful adventures mate

Thanks buddy, yeah Archie was my main concern, but the hair cut and portable fan did the trick... he was amazing throughout! We are going to take a break for a bit and be back in time for when we head to Scotland! Hope you're well and stay safe mate!

So you guys got to feel a couple of days of summer .... it was 18c here the other day in the middle of winter ... just wait til you feel 48c ... that's warm. Glad you guys survived

Doubt I’d like to experience those temperatures in a van for a prolonged period… just that two days was enough for me and the dog! Hope you’re well mate and stay safe in those temperatures 👍

Surviving a heatwave very interesting terminology I would say that fire men and women are surviving the heatwave personally I'm a van owner and I'm just enjoying my holidays in the UK

Our first trip to Italy was consistently 35 during the day. It ain’t pleasant. Pleased Archie coped with it. I’m laid up recovering after a night out with the browns and usual suspects at Stratford. Shamed to say I had to be carried back to the van. Can’t remember anything.

Mid 30's temperatures are not comfortable for sure! How was the Stratford festival apart from being carried back to the van?

@@PackTheVanAndGo it was really good. We ended up in Covie Karl’s display field. So we had loads of people looking in and around the van. Great to swap ideas and point out some of the things I’d do differently. We’re going up to Willowfields Thursday for a selfbuild meet.

I saw a really cool mat for pets to use during hot weather. It was being advertised by a guy in Edinburgh on a street stall recently. It was like a thin water bed that sits under their bedding area. You put cold water in it from the tap or wherever else you'd find cold water. Waterfall, loch, lake, river, iceberg if you want a long drive to Arctic, etc. It's made from high strength rubber to avoid pointy feet bursting through it .

I was given one of them ages ago by a friend and Archie wouldn’t go anywhere near it! So it ended up being dumped like a lot of things I but for him to try… he’s a dog who quite nervous and doesn’t like change much! Bless him… but thanks for thinking about him and the idea… Rob

Was kicking myself when I got home, had a big bottle of water in the boot I meant to offer you. So sorry about that… Those fans will have been a lifesaver. Portable one great for Archie. That’s good about the water… I’m good thank you. Trying to simplify my life at the moment, working out what’s important and what’s not. Trying to get a few more trips booked in , that’s when I’m happiest really. I think a break for you away from KZread will be a pressure off a bit for you Rob. Hope you don’t disappear altogether though.. would be nice to see you again, but do what you have to do , not what you feel you have to do to please people. Stay safe you two, and take care. Xx

Keep a good eye on fur baby because there are a lot of ticks in the UK and they can harm fur baby....

It was a warm one Rob but every now and then a real scorcher comes along. 1976, 2003, 2018 were hot ones too. Just imagine how hot your van would be, if it was military green, dark grey or black?.

@@PackTheVanAndGo Great thanks Rob, only that I have had to reduce my travelling about due to the high fuel costs. Having to re think about eating too as regular things like chicken and beef are way up in price. A more humble approach now, rice and pasta were things I had occasionally but have now become the norm.
