@@CaptainVillanueva1 There's definitely physical disciplining. When i practiced Kung Fu there were times where I was hit with a stick. Sometimes for discipline, sometimes as an exercise. At the end of it, one of the exercises is taking a power stance while your instructor smashes a wooden stick to pieces on your back.

I've been doing kung fu my whole life and although it isn't Shaolin, and it isn't as hard or strict as this kind of training, I take the training etiquette for granted. If you take it seriously, it becomes natural. If you commit to martial arts with your mind body and spirit, the training you do will reflect on every other aspect of your life and this is a very precious thing.

I was the same way as a kid too, and ended up starting wushu in college and have been super into it ever since. Haha, this was probably more appropriate for them. Wu bu quan has too much stancework and coordination for where they were at. They were having trouble with just horse and bow stance, they wouldn't have survived a drop stance or empty stance.

Kung Fu is practically a way of life, the discipline and mindset permeates into the natural form of your daily life. How you execute the movements does reveal much about your character. That said, different styles are suitable for different people and cultures. Maybe Capoeira might suit you better.
