Survival Glasses - Solo Bushcraft Trip
#bushcraft #survival #camping
Trying out making birch bark pinhole glasses. Worked great. The reduced amount of light reaching the retina, gives increased depth of field and can act as reading glasses. Of course a piece of paper, cloth or whatever also would work. Hold your hand out flat and look through a tiny space between your fingers with one eye, after some adjustments you can make this work as a quick method that is very effective.
Coldest month of may I can remember. Chilling nights. So the fish are not eating yet but fun to crank anyway.
Drum tight lavvu poncho setup. That is deeply satisfying to me LOL
Thanks for watching!

Hi swed. I have been following you since 2018. I believed that you have a telepathic relationship with your followers. Whenever I think that there is no voicefrom swed for a long time, you immediately post a video. I don't think I am the only one in this regard. I think you have become a big family with your followers. Congratulations and youtube The value you add to youtube family is beyond reality. I hope youtube read this article.. Greetings.

Very true!
When I had cateracts in both eyes, it was so bad I could barely see any more, it was like walking in a dense fog all the time. The optician put a pair of pinhole glasses on me and suddenly my vision improved to the point I could read words again. This really does work, the effect is incredible.

I have watched all of your videos for years and have recommended your channel to people I know who want something peaceful to watch. My youngest son surprised me by saying he had watched your channel. Keep up with what you do so well.
I love your videos and watch them as often as possible. I used to spend days in the wilderness by myself with just a bed roll, knife, and fire starter. Mother earth supplied everything else needed. That was back in the 1960's when life was more simple. Thank you for sharing a portion of your life with us.

Love it. My Father taught me this years ago, that if I were to lose/break my glasses I could use this to assist. Enjoy watching your videos.
Interesting, never saw anything like it. It’s funny, whenever I watch “bushcrafters” trying to light a fire by striking their ferro rod multiple times, going a hundred miles per hour, I always tell them to watch one of your videos to see the master of the one strike fire starter. 😂 You know, when the SHTF, I want to be right next to you! Thanks for toting us along for another great journey.
Total immersion in nature as usual I like it , thanks!
What a breath of life when the world is in such kaos. Another* great swedwoods video and a cup of coffee. Life is good.
happy Saturday fellow swedfans
Thanks for another great video. The mirror reflection on the water was very nice. You had such calm and still weather this time. The closing shot of the island was awesome, I really enjoyed this one. 👍
The holes are like smaller apertures on a lens! Excellent video Swedewoods 🇸🇪🏁🇸🇪!!
Relaxing and meditative as always, thank you very much. Greetings from Germany
As someone that is older but new to glasses. I appreciate this knowledge. May need to practice it this summer. At some point in my exam, I looked through pinhole eyepiece and saw the chart clear as day. These might be lifesaver in the woods if someone lost or broke their eyeglasses.
Such cool pinhole glasses. If one was unfortunate enough to break or lose their prescription glasses this knowledge could be invaluable. The opposite of “The blue dot” is the the little white dot in the blue lake.
Every detail is so well thougth, éventuellement the case, wow! They are also effective to protect the eyes from bright light, like snow reflecting sunlight. I admire your ingeniosity so much!

Did you see the one where he made a fu**ing flute out of bamboo and then played the most haunting music over a misty lake in the early morning? The guy is the ultimate renaissance man. Totally inspirational.
These waterslands joining the beginning of the sea are incredible.. your country is beautiful, you re lucky!
Your video was again magnificent. Great camera work and beautiful locations. I do so look forward to your videos. A welcome change from the excess narration of some channels on YourTube.
Take care! Un saluto dall'Italia!
Another fantastic video, I'm mezmorized eatching you put your projects and camps together, and with a knife designed for wood carving, keep well!
Another peaceful video of camping in nature, I’ll look forward to the next one Swed.
I have watched your videos for years and I LOVE them! Please keep them coming...comforts me to see you out in the wild...sort of lets me be part of it all...I love to camp alone in the wilderness...such beauty! I LOVE the island at the end...trailing off...Thanks so much and ATB!
Great, finally, I've been waiting for a new video for a long time!👍
This is brilliant.Just brilliant. Also, they looks very cool too! As always, thank you for sharing another great adventure with us Sir 💪🌲
Heartfelt thanks for another exceptionally beautiful and serene video! ❤️😍⭐️💫👌🏻
Amazing googles to gain a couple of diopters and read confortable, do not doubt. Only can be made for a master. Greetings my friend
I've seen snow goggles made from Birch Bark but never pin hole glasses. Such useful knowledge learned from your video, thank you. I think the closing shots of the little island are a master stroke, because they touch something in 99% of your viewer's feelings about the beauty and isolation in the wild, provided one has the skills and knowledge to thrive there.
Many of the northern Indigenous people in the Canadian Arctic have glasses of similar design for preventing snow blindness. As always, a great pleasure to watch your videos. Keep up the great work.
Thank you for the great visit. That's a beautiful spot you picked.
A pleasure to watch as always. 👍
Hi my gentle giant awesome tranquil vid loved that eye ware you made.
Vedios anti depression ❤
Imminently enjoyable, educational, and interesting _as usual._ I never thought to use the snow glasses to increase visual acuity in non-whiteout conditions. I just tried that out, sine I have a pair that I made from bone based on the Inuit design, (our indigenous friends in N. Americas arctic). Hey, it works! You had a ton of stuff in this vid., Swed! Thanks so much for the infospiration!
That food looked grim as all hell brother! Thank you for the quality content!
Good vid. Beautiful spring. Good drone. As usual the mosquitos bite more than the fish. Rapala's, Mepps rooster tail spinners treble hooks allowed. Interesting on the glasses, trying out that sharp knife. Next time take care. Good luck wetting a line.
Great video, friend!👍🌲🌳
Congratulations on good work 🎉
Thanks. 4:50 I'm glad you're fishing after a long time.
Time to get the boat out I see!

Love to enjoy every amazing video you made ❤❤❤ How a skillful and clever man . Respect ❤
Birch bark, such a magical substance! I wonder if those glasses would have sufficed for the Eclipse a few weeks ago? 🤣 Amazing video, I expect nothing less. I wonder if the inventor of the Laavu ever imagined the future adventures it would see?
Swed into Solaris ocean, wow :)))

Exactly what I was thinking too
Great video 👍
Finally found your channel name 🤩 i miss that since years ago
Hahah Where do you get such ideas? My eye-sight is weak and since I was a young boy, i knew it. And one day i tried to look at the ZV through the fingers of my hand, opened just enough so that I could see through them.. that was a day of enlightenment. I often use this technique outfoors when I need to see a tect or object in focus or overcome my eye-sight weakness..
Very cool!
Too bad about the fish but yeah, in cold weather the bites have to be forced by being aggressive with the bait and rod, besides that's why it's called fishing not catching🤣 Nice spectacles, peepers bushcraft style. Other than cold, the weather looked good. Informative and enjoyable like all your videos, well done and presented of course, thanks for the work. See ya next time.
thanks for sharing, peace.
Thanks again Sir, Great video
Absolutely beautiful 👍🏻
Enjoyed watching it so much ❤❤❤
Great video always
Excellent work
Wonderful❤thank you keep doing what you do
The Ancient Forest is Beautiful in Spring. The Trangia kettle sees a lot of use . It may be a better option than the Bush Pot . I wonder what you think ?
OAK leys sunglasses...just swedwood style. I really enjoy watching you inventing and experimenting with natural resources. I remember the tree branch fishing rod. Very clever. Swedwood, can you come up with a clever bushcraft canvas bed or something, please my back is getting too old for lying on the ground. Great work as always.

Hello my Friend Thank you for your nice video. I have only one question, how high was your Drone that was amazing. To bad you didn't get a nice Pike, but maybe next time. Stay healthy with your family . 👍

Great video, I hope one day i can reach the amazing level you are at, I started Yesterday a KZread Channel, keep it up.

Your first camp site was idyllic. Just the sort of place to relax. Do you bump into may people on your trips as it always looks so quiet. I suppose you shoot it that way and don't add content where people are interrupting you. Thank you for all the videos and please keep them coming.
Do you have to drive for hours to get to that place? It is absolutely gorgeous there and seems very isolated. Do you have to watch out for bears, wolves? Thank you for your videos, they are really interesting.
