He learned what the word ' firewood ' meant eventually. He learnt the difference to the word stick,and what actions to do with each word. Great dog,great stick thrower .

It's amazing how he fell into his role. You can see the intelligence in his eyes. That'll be a wise dog when he begins to calm down with age. You're both very lucky to have each other lol.

A Dog is a man's best friend. That GS will be loyal and protect you as long as it is alive. Awesome animal!!

There's a reason they're called man's best friend. When I was young, I was planning on traveling across the country alone. Years before the trip, I was crazy enough to bring in a year and a half old pitbull that was left at an abandoned house I was checking out. Tasha couldn't be a more loyal dog to me. We spent two months driving across the country. Hiking, camping, trespassing, we did it all. I couldn't have asked for a better traveling companion. Keep up the good work, and thank you for sharing your wisdom over the years.

Do it! Practice all the bushcrafting skills you can while you're young, go on camping trips, spend nights sleeping outdoors in a tent, build shelters in your backyard, find online survival groups you can join (some might have an age limit). I wish I had learned all this stuff when I was a kid. I'm 58 now, and not sure I could survive on my own in the wild.

Fin is one of kind! I never met a German Shepherd like him. It is like he was born for the Bush! Very brave with those bears as well!

1) unless something happened to his tail as he was growing up, he's not a pure bred German Shepherd. 2) his behaviour is pretty stereotypical German Shepherd behaviour even if he's not a pure bred, so I have no idea what you're talking about, they're amazing work dogs (and that includes the bush), they literally don't require training to be protective of their people and their people's property, and there's a reason why they're pretty much the preffered breed by all police and army forces around the world, lol. Though he is a one of a kind for Greg, that's for sure.

@@YamiKisara sorry to burst your bubble but the vast majority of German shepherds are trash, they are over bred and not test properly. That said yes if you get a good one off proper lines they are amongst the best dogs in the world.

Thar dog loves being out in the bush. It's fun to see the special bond people have with their dogs. Fin might be the happiest boy on earth. A life of adventure ❤ One of my dogs is an American white Shepherd and he is vocal just like Fin. He makes that same whimpering whiny sound when he's excited or trying to communicate lol. He also barks at me when he wants me to follow him and i joke that he yells at me when he needs something. He's 10 now still has a young spirit.

Dogs love living in the bush. Our DDR, bonded more with us in the woods than anywhere else. And they take care of their people in the woods. It's the best experience to have with the doggies! We stayed out on 2 tracks in the national forest for about 2 years, moved every 15 days and had a seasonal round established.

I think that for this breed of dogs to be raised in such a setting and environment is the best for them! Extremely smart dogs have a very high capacity for training and a sharp mind! And this environment can provide them with the necessary conditions for development!
