I’m almost 72, with watery eyes my heart is full of joy that your Grandpa is pulling the grain cart for you. You and all of your family must feel wonderful.🙂. I’m very active I believe I will live longer that way. I love life to much to slow down. I change my own oil in two vehicles. Since spring I have installed new brakes and discs on a tahoe, all shocks and torsion bar bushings on my 2010 ford Ranger, cut down 8 trees with 5-12 inch diameter, planted about 55 perennial flowering plants and bushes on our 1 1/4 acres, installed a garbage disposal (had to run wire for that) installed a new vanity in a half bathroom. Installed 4 security lights on house. And maintained a spring/summer garden. Keep grandpa busy and from an old man make sure he knows he is loved.❤❤❤❤

It's funny you should talk about your cousins coming out to ride in the Combine. In 1976, I was the city cousin riding in the Combine. I was all of 12 years old and they were harvesting winter wheat. I got to steer the Combine, while my cousin who owned the farm, did everything else. The Combine was so old it didn't have air conditioning or a radio. The tractor had both. Almost 50 years later and I STILL remember that day.

Speaking of needing more people. I can still remember the first time I saw grandma driving tractor. I was probably eight or nine.... it was the 1970's. She was wearing a pair of grandpas overalls with the legs rolled up and a bright red kerchief. Haying was in full swing. My heart nearly stopped. There was a lot more to that woman then I had imagined.

'cause guys like me, we only resort to the manual as the last resort - sooner or later, we'll figure it out, or make it up as we go LOL. Anyway, enjoy your videos and miss the years working on the ranch/farm in the Dakotas. Some of my favorite years.

My new rule of thumb is “Always read the manual no mater how simple - even a small 4 cycle engine. I read the manual, and a small hidden slide - open close for bot or cold weather. Changes engine operation. Who would know. Even a distributor that has sold thousands wasn’t even aware of the tiny hidden slide valve.

I sympathise with you and sleep depravation, my wife is on end of life care, with brain tumours that have not responded to costly treatment. She has been hard to get to bed and then getting up again at 02:00, our days often start then and go through to 23:00, with nothing like a harvest brought home to show for all the time. I have had to surrender my cat herding licence and admit I have failed. Seeing you young, sprightly, active and being successful is a wonderful tonic, You and those getting on and doing suggest that there could still be a future, though many of the news reports suggest that is over blown confidence. Above all, keep safe and continue to give us hope.

Young lady I've always loved farming though I do not do it anymore from lots of reasons we won't talk about, anywhoo you're awesome and being a young lady and doing what you do I have the upmost respect. I grew up on a 144 acre beef & dairy farm very thing planted was food for the animals, as a young fella I learned it's hard work that most people wouldn't understand that, long days and when you don't know what day of week it is cause everyday is harvest day then it down time to get ready for next year. Plus working for grandpa with a logging/ construction company yah never a boring moment thank you for sharing your journey as always God bless y'all from Gaffney South Carolina viewer 🙏❤️💯

All this modern technology is amazing....BUT, it can be such a pain in the neck. We bought two brand new 2022 hybrid vehicles. They get great MPG which is awesome, but the thing that blows me away most is the standard equipment technology. We drive out to our club once or twice a week. It's 40 miles from the house and the majority of the route takes us through farm country on two lane roads with lots of S type curves. I set the cruise control and the auto drive feature and the car basically drives itself. It's wild when you're going 65mph through those S curves and the car drives itself 100%. It's mind boggling for an old guy like me. So far, we've had no issues, but the limited trim model of the car we bought, the most expensive has so much tech on board we haven't gotten through half of it yet. LOL When I watch these farming videos I'm amazed at how advanced the equipment is. Hey Laura, so happy to hear about your grampa being ack on the farm. May God continue to bless you and your family.

Glad to see Kurt pulling a cart. That's gotta make him feel good. And I got hungry when momma said "burnt ends" on the radio.

This summer i had part-time job. I was collecting straw bales and i know, what does it mean to sit in the cab whole day, without talking... To be honest: after few hours i started talking to myself :D However, I hope, that next year I´m gonna work again. Thank you for your videos. It was always my dream to drive tractor and your channel gave me motivation to do it. (sorry for my english - I´m from Czechia)

I don't know what's not to like about your videos. I really enjoy each and every one of them. It is a joy to hear you tell us what you are doing and why. So glad your grandfather is doing well and, in the tractor, next to you. What a great recovery and I am so happy for your family that he made it and is still here with you.

Liked seeing you read the manual. As an ex farm equipment dealer employee I could count on one hand the operators that read the manual. Good job and thanks for sharing.
