Surprisingly Good! Winchester Double X 12ga 3" 1-3/4oz #4 Test W/ 11-87 & Avian-X Crusher .665
Today we bring out some of the Winchester Double X 12ga 3" 1-3/4oz 4s and put them to the test at 40 yards through the Remington 11-87 and an Avian-X Crusher .665 choke. We definitely saw some very impressive results from this combo, so stick around and see how it performs!

They definitely seem to be a pretty solid lead shell
wow I would not expect that performance out of a double x 4

Unfortunately I don't have any more of those left. Even if I did though, .665 is just too tight for a large tss pellet like that. Salt Creek recommends a full choke, other similar shells with tss 4s say that .680 is the max constriction, plus we definitely hit the constriction limit of what they are willing to take without ruining the pattern when we recently ran them through the Kicks .680 choke. Long story short, I just wouldn't want to be the guy that pushes my equipment into the risky zone on a shell like that and wind up hurting myself or my equipment
If I was still going to shoot lead and could not find LBXR’s, I would seek these out. I actually have some in 3.5 inch #5’s. They pattern well out of my gun, but they kick hard.

The LB shells are hard to argue with, but these are definitely a solid option as well
Good pattern for lead #4's.

We have run the LB 5s and 6s through it, but not the 4s. We might just have to try that sometime soon
Can you do the 20ga LBXR#5 through the LBXR .568?
