    Hi.TheGuitarNerdShow Congratulations on the channel! I would like to ask you a question if possible. in your opinion and have you been able to try it. Which speaker would go best with a 1x12" screen for the Marshall STUDIO VINTAGE SV20h head, what is the ideal combination and would it make the best match? With : 1° Celestion G12M 65 Creamback 1×12" 2° Celestion Vintage30 1x12" 3° Celestion V type 1x12" 4° Celestion Greenback 1x12" 5° Celestion Classic Lead 80 1x12" With what Ohms would be the ideal or best for the speaker with the Marshall SV20h head? With : 1st Speaker 8 Ohms 2nd Speaker 16 Ohms Thank you very much in advance for the information (if it is possible for you to give me your opinion) and sorry for being so bold with the query, I hope I don't bother you. Thank you very much!!Greetings! @TheGuitarNerdShow

    You hit the nail on the head. Just lost a bit of the low end, but in a full band / track situation, that would most likely be mixed out to make room for the bass guitar. These lower watt amps definitely make sense for recording.

    Congratulations on the video, as it breaks the myth that 1/5 of the power does not mean 1/5 of the volume. I think companies took a long time to make these 20w heads! In 2009 I bought my first tube amp and I simply couldn't use it at my gigs because of the very high volume. To avoid making the same mistake, the second was 50w (LOL). It was more usable, but still very loud. I finally found myself when I entered the world of 20W! I love the studio series!

    I was completely shocked, when I first plugged into these amps, at how much volume they do have. And the tones! I used a 22 watt Deluxe Reverb for a few years so I did know how loud those 22 watts could be, but I didn't expect this! Thanks for watching!

    I agree. The JVM sounds scooped, sounds full alone, but at high risk to lose its place in the mix. The VM and SV20 sound like they know where they sit, and will cut and shine in the mix without sounding thin.

    I have a Fryette Power Station hooked up to mine. No problem keeping up and it can run at bed room volumes and it sounds just like their it does with nothing hooked up. My setup on my studio was just like yours except my bass was on 7. Channels jumpered also. I also have the Boss EQ most used pedal I have. Will be trying my little boost pedal. Good vid. Was spot on. Studio sounds great but there is the head room issue. That's why I have the Fryette and it sounds great on all my other amps. I bought it for my 2204 to be able to play in my studio. Was happy to find out it works all all my other heads. CW

    The Vintage Modern (and no, I don’t own one) seems to be Marhsall’s sweet spot amp. I’m surprised their prices aren’t going through the roof. People are always wondering why Marshall, doesn’t respond to the boutique modded Marshall market with a modded model of their own, and yet they had the VM and discontinued it. New ownership, bring it back!!

    In some ways I liked the sv20 the best. Kind of a snarl in the midrange. The others, in general, kind of sounded like more low end oomph. Maybe more noticeable in the room, but for a recorded sounded, nothing at all wrong with the sv20. That's my 2 cents listening here. Nice job again!

    A decibel meter would have been helpful when comparing volumes...................you know because it actually measures volume.

  • @TheGuitarNerdShow

    @TheGuitarNerdShow

    25 күн бұрын

    Do you understand how the measure of decibels actually works? As an example, a 50 watt Marshall is only roughly 3db less than a 100 watt Marshall. So taking these 20 watt Marshalls, which I'll guarantee are pushing more than 20 watts at full volume (just as a 100 watt Plexi pushes upwards of 150-200 watts when cranked) I'd venture to say there might be a 5 to 7db difference, if that. But your point is an interesting one. Perhaps I'll put my DB meter on a stand and video the readings as I switch between the amps. Could end up being very informative. Thanks for watching!

  • @cyberpunk409

    @cyberpunk409

    23 күн бұрын

    I would love to see that!!! Would be good if you had some software that would take the average dB levels for a 10 second recording and compare the 4 amps. Otherwise those decibel levels jump all over the spot, and given lag/latency, can make it hard to compare in "real time". Looking out for that@@TheGuitarNerdShow
