Surprising my Fiancé in Japan with Private Valentine's Day Hot Spring

How hot are Japanese hot springs? I've never been completely comfortable with public bathing in Japan, but hot springs are a big part of Japanese culture and I think I need to get used to it. See me and my finance rent a private Valentine's Day Couple's Hot Spring , also called onsen, n Japan. Can I get used to it or will it be more than I can handle?

@@OrientalPearl Please continue doing so! Always remember: People stay where they feel 'at home' so to speak. For example I came to your channel because of - obviously - Japan and the language part of it. But I stayed for the content around YOU and your experiences in this beautiful country! It's great to have someone you can relate to and therefore the interest switched from languages & Japan to YOU and YOUR experience in this country! It's both entertaining and educating to watch and this special mix is exactly what defines YOUR channel. Long story short: Just keep doing what you're doing! All the best from Germany =)

Only through Western German television it was possible to make a trip to Western germany. While Anming didn't mentioned what are included in her $200 rate, my own experience of staying @ various onsen ryokan(literally hot spring inn) across Japan is that unless u specifically choose to exclude, dinner+breakfast are ALWAYS included in the rate. Anming also apparently added options like room service meals and private outdoor onsen in the garden of her room. That's a lot of stuff for US$200 per night which is likely still cheaper than a standard room only @ Holiday Inn, Marriott or Hilton in LAX or Shinjuku(i.e. downtown Tokyo) for examples.

Anming, thanks for being real. I've always wanted to go to a little place like this and it was fun! Here in Hawaii, we had/have some Japanese TV programming called Soka Ga Japan and/or Soka Ga Shiritai. It is so much fun to watch as these people go to different places in Japan and interject themselves into the lives of the local people to see what their life is about. This kinda had that vibe to it and I can see you doing more exploratory videos in the future. It would be awesome if you could do that for Japan and China!

I'm not into languages or travel, I don't watch anything like this at ALL so I have no idea why I was recommended your videos a little back, but I have to say I'm VERY glad to be one of your subs now. Your videos are so interesting and I love getting a glimpse into this beautiful culture and your life over there. And you have a wonderful spark about you that is quite rare, I think that's the main thing that keeps drawing me back to watch your videos. Keep up the great work and thank you!

I love your friendly and open-minded character and also love you and your fiancé's chemistry! everytime I see the two of you I just get so happy hahah idk if you ever made a video like this, but what about "speaking to my fiancé in English for 24 hours" or maybe even Chinese? I just think it would be so cute and funny :) lots of love from Germany!!

I think you're doing a great job satisfying both the language learning side and the cultural, travel vlogger of Japan. The language learner enjoys hints and seeing you using the language in everyday life. The traveler part of me enjoys that you show things in Japan that I either didn't know existed, or didn't have time to see. I was wanted to visit some traditional onsen's in Japan but time, location and price must align and it didn't happen. I really want to go to Nishiyama Onsen Keiunkan which is the oldest onsen in Japan and the oldest hotel in world run for over 50 generations by the same family. As expected it not the cheapest accommodation, it takes effort to get to it's location, and my travel partners voted me down. So, this was a fun video as you and Tommy baste or poach your selves in your own private bath. The onsen ryokan you spent the night at would suit my esthetic. So liked the language school Instagram posts, your interests seem either align with, or anticipate my interests. Your posts are insta clicks and worthy of a view or two. Glad you and Tommy had a good time. Great video.

Thank you Jim! I’m trying my best. It’s hard to find a good onsen at a price that doesn’t break the bank. We had to go way out to the middle of nowhere to find this place. I hope you have a chance to come back and give it a try. We have some great recommendations for you.

Miss onsen in Japan, especially in Winter time. But from my experience, onsen ryokan are usually busier in summer time, it is kind of strange since the water is so hot, I found it more enjoyable in Winter time! So your onsen package only include breakfast with $200 ? Nice video!

When I was in Aomori, I went to a hot bath, there were cold showers surrounding the bath... very low on the wall. One was to sit on a small plastic seat while using it. I went from the bath to the shower many times.. the hot then cold was very relaxing. The snow was very deep in Aomori when I was there... Fun times. Safe travels guys, thanks for sharing!
