Surprising FILIPINO Tradition In The Mountains...

If you haven't explore much in the Philippines, you may find yourself surprised by a few traditions...
In this case, they have burial caves in the mountains. Igorots in Mountain Province have unique ways they pay respect to the dead. Watch in this video as I explore the countryside in Bauko, Mountain Province. I ended up finding a place called Layaan Burial Cave. Where you will see a unique way the locals pay respect to their relatives.
A hike, friendly locals, and RESPECT.
Power On!

There are many different traditions here in the Philippines in regards to those who have passed away. Here in the mountains, this is just one of them. It was a wonderful hike through the wilderness (a bit tiring though at times), and Manong was very kind to try to offer to help me. Power On. ***For everyone asking about "Merch" (T-Shirts) over the years... They are now available online through MerchBy. I partnered with Erwan's company to have them locally designed and created: www.merchby.ph/product-category/people/kyle-jennermann-kulas/

I love the hand gestures of Uncle Pablo where he was also curving his arm to indicate a curve path, and to indicate the far distance 😄... Did you see him hovering (like a dad sending his son to school alone for the first time)? Then he followed you just to make sure you found those steps. 👏🏻👏🏻... Power on Kyle!

7:09 Kuya: Pwede kang lumakad don sa "KWA" which means "ANO" in tagalog. Kulas: Pwede akong lumakad doon sa "AQUA"? All along, Kulas thinks kuya is pertaining to "AQUA" / tubig. 😂😂Manong might have a difficulty speaking in tagalog but he did his best tho. Been watching your Vlogs straight Kuya Kulas. I'm from Cagayan Valley but I didn't know there are places like those that I see on you videos. Thank you so much for promoting our place and discovering for us these beautiful and amazing treasure we didn't know we had. ❤

Kulas, I grew up in that place and I see those sceneries everyday during my childhood, I didn't realized how lucky I am until I left. If you'd continued driving down the road, there is the right path going to the burial cave and to the falls. I was lost in that path you took too, I thought it was a short cut to the village down there but led me to rice fields, creek and bushes. I can feel what you felt. Anyway, that is part of adventure. Admire your courage... More POWER!

I’m bad with directions , I might have been lost in that trail 🥴 It’s good that even if you are trying to explore the mountains you did not forget to be respectful and not to go beyond the boundaries of the cemetery . In the Philippines one of best venues to have a family reunion is when visiting our loved ones who passed away so it’s okay to smile because we are celebrating the life they lived ❤️#BecomingAFan 😄
