SURPRISE! Our New Truck Camper for Overlanding (NOT WHAT YOU EXPECT!)
#overlanding #landcruiserlifestyle #landcruiser #travel
After well over a year of planning, our overland truck is finally here! It's not what we originally planned to be driving the world with, but we think it's even better. Today we're showing you guys the process of how we ended up with a 1988 Toyota Land Cruiser BJ75 with a BiMobil Husky Camper on the back. This truck is not something we could have ever dreamed up since these trucks are so hard to find, especially in America. When we saw it listed on Instagram, we jumped at it and contacted the owners immediately. You'll have to watch the full vlog for the story. :) Stay tuned for more videos of our truck in the coming weeks and months!

Well I guessed wrong. The tuc-tuc video makes way more sense now. My mom use to park on the side of a steep hill to teach people to drive manual. I just tell people to use the handbrake on hills an release it right as your release the clutch. Just don't expect the handbrake to hold on a steep hill. If its adjusted correctly, it will if facing down hill. But its directional. It does not keep you from rolling backwards very well. So get good before any steep hills. An always park in gear. First is fine, Reverse is lower so better.

Congrats on your new adventure! Life has funny twists and turns sometimes. I’ve tried to learn stick twice. The first time was in high school in my friend’s old VW Rabbit. She was significantly shorter than me and wouldn’t let me change the seat because it was hard to get back in place. Needless to say, it didn’t go well. Hey! We loved our Taco and we'll definitely talk more about this in our video this coming weekend, but the short-ish answer is that we purchased the truck with the intention of doing something super minimal to get it into Thailand (which is hard to get RV looking vehicles into). However, plans have changed for a lot of reasons and we've decided to do something a bit more comfortable. The Taco is a super reliable and a comfortable truck, but finding parts overseas if we need them will be difficult plus it doesn't have the payload capacity to handle the type of camper we were looking at (specifically for a large water tank, air conditioning for the dog, etc.). It's still a super solid truck and truthfully we weren't really that concerned about getting parts overseas since we would carry the basic necessities with us anyway.
