    4:07 我哭了。。。

Yeah. We don't usually say "I love you" to show our love. We show it with our actions and how we care and treasure each other. I can't say I LOVE YOU when I really love someone (parent, friend, partner) not because I'm shy, in fact it's not my love language. I show them with my actions.

Same. Words are good but actions are better. Of course saying "I love you" to the people we care for is also good. Since it makes people happy to hear those words from the one they love as well. By the way, did you guys eat yet? Make sure to eat and don't skip meals, take care of yourselves especially these times of pandemic :>

As an Asian, I know the difficulty of saying, "I love you,” to my parents. As you can see, the parents also don't know how to react to such a statement. They downplay it or say thank you. It's not that there's no love, but it's quite hard!

In Brazil, where I'm from, it's different. Parents here (most) are loving. If you tell them you love them, chances are they'll make an even sweeter statement. If I mentioned this to my mother or father, they would shower me with loving words. This is just one of many cultural differences.

Is very interesting for me to see this perspective. As a Mexican, I can say that most of us are very warm and affectionate. I’ve never said a “goodbye” to my parents without an “I love you”. I call them every now and then to just see how are they doing and tell them that I love them. There’s not a day that goes by without my father sending me a text and telling me that he loves me. This makes me feel so grateful for all the love I have received from my parents and the confidence I have to go and give them a big hug anytime ❤

I’m American so saying “I love you” to my parents and my kids is an everyday thing, but my ex husband is Asian and always had a hard time saying it, but showed love in other ways. I can see how it makes the phrase “I love you” feel that much more special and touching when it is finally said ❤

When I was a kid, one day I started to say "te quiero" to my family members but I never learned to say "te amo". It doesn't mean that I love them less, it's just than I'm used to say the other thing. As an American I do find it very sweet how the parents respond by SHOWING their love in some way. It seems to me that a lot of Asian cultures value acts that demonstrate love more than verbally saying it. Several of the parents made sure their kid had food to eat, asked if they were okay, or offered money, said "Make sure you come home early to be safe," or some other way to show their affection. They were saying "I love you" back, in their way.

I disagree. On the opposite, I don't like those: "I love you, mom" "love you, too. Bye" kinda talks. "I love you" to me is supposed to be a very very very strong and serious expression because of the meanings and responsibilities behind it. I don't like people just use it like "hello" types of expression. Similar to, in a relationship, I would use "I like you" instead of "I love you" in most cases, unless I really think the girl in front of me is "the one".

I know some people say "I love you" so easily to their parents, yet they so easily disrespect their parents, too. It's like there's no more value to the words. To me, it is not how often you say the words but how you treat your parents is what's more important. But it's good that the people in the video were able to say it to their parents and vice versa - very touching video.

This made me cry a lot. My dad passed away when I was 12 and my mom when I was 16. What I would give to just have 1 more conversation with them, to ask them questions adult to adult. I never was told “I’m proud of you” or was praised in anyway, I knew I was loved but then it went away. If I ever have kids I want them to get the childhood and love that I couldn’t get and be the full time parent that I didn’t have. But man the things I would do to just hear one time “I love you, and I’m proud of you son”.

I dare everyone that reads this to say “I love you” to your parents. My mom didn’t say it at first because my grandmother never said it to her but I broke the cycle and always told my grandmother I loved her every time I talked to her before she passed away, and I tell my mom I love her every single day. Be the change y’all I understand it’s not a common thing to say to your parents in the Asian culture and many cultures, but you don’t know that it actually means a lot to them because they probably never got to hear it from their parents. As an Asian American, “I love you” isn’t normally spoken in an average Asian American household unless they are extremely close or it’s directed to or from your grandparents. Since saying “I love you” isn’t a norm, Asian parents assume their child is in some sort of trouble or is in need of some cash when they receive this three lettered phrase. This doesn’t usually apply to younger ages. My mother and I used to have a thing where we just randomly say I love you and then respond I love you more and so forth. I was like 6 though. This is for anyone that doesn’t understand why these people are sort of cringing before saying it.

Like the whole idea of even having a child is to provide it with enough emotional and mental as well as discipline ofc but love must always be the number one thing in the family or otherwise it won’t work. Like how tf do you expect children to become stable adults if they never had that parental love. I swear my advice to ppl who have “difficulties expressing their love for their children” (which btw is inexcusable like stop trying to be the victim in this situation cuz that’s just basically neglect and you’re just making yourself look stupid) is that if you don’t know how to show love to your kids then you’re obviously not mature enough to have them given the fact that you’re acting like a child yourself
