This video covers the surgical management of gastric adenocarcinoma. This video is on the more complex side, given the high morbidity associated with major gastrectomy and the high propensity for it to present late, the workup for gastric adenocarcinoma is more involved than some other GI tract tumors. Also, there are numerous surgical options depending on the exact location in the stomach, as well as the T- stage of the tumor. We talk about which tumors can be managed with EMR alone, and the differences between distal, proximal, total, and subtotal gastrectomies. Finally, we cover indications for neoadjuvant therapy and the most common surveillance regimens postop.
