Very innovative idea. But curious to know whether the price of this product will be significantly lesser than the combined price of an electric 3 wheeler + an electric 2 wheeler. Cuz if it doesn't save me much money i would rather go for separate products that are best in their respective segments, with the added advantage of being able to use each asset in parallel.

If it actually meets the financial income of a rickshaw driver then it'll be a game changer as the rickshaw driver could be loading stock n work in the transportation sector during night and work as a rickshaw driver during the day also work as a delivery man in between on the scooty...very well done...but considering the technologies that go into making this, it'll be quite a task to make it affordable for the right target customers

Great innovation, but I feel this implementation is not perfect. It has 4bhp motor in the scooter and 13bhp motor in the rickshaw. There is an 11 kWh battery in rickshaw and a 3.5 kWh battery in scooter. Where does the cost advantage come from? Like, wouldnt this cost similar price as buying a scooter and rickshaw separately? Also it would likely be underpowered average scooter and below average cumbersome richshaw experience. For comparison, activa has around 8bhp. In this situation, you are not exciting either of the users. A person who want to mainly use it as rickshaw will buy a proper rickshaw than such a solution. So, your actual customers are those who want a scooter, but sometimes want to use it as a rickshaw to carry more load. I think a better implementation would be to make the scooter significantly more powerful. Make it an enthusiast type scooter like Aerox. Give it 17 to 30 bhp motor. Give it more battery than normal scooter. Let it be a beefier heavier maxi-scooter. Make the wheels bigger and wider. Let it cost more than usual scooters. Let us say 2.5lakhs onroad. Now, the rickshaw will be just a dumb trolly that will be fully pulled by the scooter and powered by the scooter exclusively. This way you can offer the rickshaw part as an accessory for 50k extra as it will just be a light weight body without any mechanicals. You can easily provide an option for adding more battery to the rickshaw if the user wants higher range. This will work like a simple powerbank to the scooter to give it good range in rikshaw mode while pulling load. But the thing is, I don't think most people who use rickshaw need much range as it is used in less than 10km distances. Now you have an exciting product. A high end fun to ride electric scooter that can be converted to a rickshaw to carry large amount of things. Now, a 2.5lakhs scooter becomes "worth it". Even if it costs 50k more that what I stated, it is a product people will aspire to buy. A self-employed common man can own a super-scooter - the best scooter India has to offer, and still justify the cost! And apart from your target market of shopkeepers and self employed, this will be purchased by a wide audience of regular people who usually buy scooter/bike because of its practicality. Indians love practicality, and there is nothing that offers more than this. Also, for the first time, higher bhp in a two wheeler will be for an actual use, rather than just for fun.
