Surfskate Review: Solide Surfskate System - Mano Niuhi / Hahalua / Just the Trucks
Спорт
Solride has come out with a very unique surfskate system that can be set up in many different arrangements to match different styles of riding. With customizable bushings, risers, and wheels, you can go from a skatepark shredder that is as low as a standard popsicle skateboard, to a more standard surfskate with large cushy wheels and deep carves. Best yet, Solride sell their trucks on their own so if you already have a deck you like, you have the option of just purchasing the trucks to create your own custom ride. The Solride system is also one of the lower cost surfskates available, so it is time for me to give you my thoughts on: 1) the Solride Mano Niuhi; 2) The Solride Hahalua; and 3) The Solride trucks paired with a surfskate deck from Whitetail Skateboards.

I, too, am glad to see different surfskate hybrids hitting the market. Competition breeds innovation. Thanks for sharing ✌️

Thanks for watching!
100% agree with you about the Sol-Ride - Whaleshark combo. Threw a set of Dragons on there and it is an absolute beast in the park. As always, awesome review with even better skating. Cheers
Thanks for this review man I have been looking at these a lot lately.
that ride over the pond was awesome

That was scary but so much fun. A friend tried it and sunk his brand new board 😥
Great review, but I would like to see more videos about whitetail products, thanks again Keoni.
I use side-set derby wheels with my Sol-Ride trucks, and have switched the rear for a hollow Independent. That setup makes a slightly looser setup, with more natural lean, and with those wheels it's a speed demon, that performs amazing on smooth surfaces.
Great review and makes me even more happy with my tiger shark purchase haha. I did find it jack knifed on me first couple of times dropping in but then got used to It. I need to remove the wheel bite stop I think
Great review Mark! Do you know of any retailer for these trucks in Canada? I couldn't find anything. Cheers.

Unfortunately not at this time, that I am aware of anyways
Great review Mark! Could this truck be a good push/pump combination on a longer board? Now i ride curfboard on a longer board (40 inch) but for more stability and pushing the solride could be better right?

I think so. The Curfboard is much easier to pump, but the Solride are my fave for pushing because they are so low and stable in that neutral kick pushing position

Thnx Mark. Really like your style of reviews 👍🏻
Solride vs Grasp? What are your thoughts? I recently switched to Grasp from CX, C5 and C7. I haven't ridden my carver since then. I love the Grasp. It gives me C5 stability with a Yow Meraki surf and forward momentum. I love them, but I'm very curious about the Solrides.

They are so different that it is hard to compare, kind of like comparing Meraki to C5. I like Grasp better as an all around surfskate truck, but for skate tricks and grinds the Solride do it very well while still feeling like a surfskate rather than a standard skateboard.
As far as normal trucks and being a surf style skater, reissue independent stage 4s that just came out they turn amazing I can even do cutbacks on banks with em and deep carves. I’m curious to see what you could do with stage 4s

I've heard good things but haven't tried them yet. I heard good things about aces too and haven't found them to work for me though

@@MarktheLandlockedSurfer aces turn too wide to be able to pump on them, i only like aces for their grind. These stage 4s give me almost the same capability’s as the cx trucks especially in the park
Thanks man. What wheels do you use with whitetail and solride trucks?.thanks man

With regard to the tail being too long on the bigger board, what about riding the board with the tail forward, so your tail becomes your nose and your nose becomes your tail? In the parkade section, I noticed that the tail was really big, and I immediately thought, I'd probably ride that deck backwards, with the tail as the nose, and probably switch the trucks to suit that configuration.

@@MarktheLandlockedSurfermaybe having Qlik's on that one would allow that option, making it mor versatile🤔

Great review as always, Mark❣️
I think you should get your wife a one wheel to follow you and film you on the boards.
