Really cool video. The only detail I've never thought of myself was to aim at a section of the wave that isn't breaking yet but you know that it is just about to start breaking. Not hard to spot that since the surfer is probably on a spot that the wave is breaking already so as the person pumps forward to speed up and turns looking diagonally you naturaly hit that sweet spot. My only specific point is that as soon as I hit the lip or peak of that sweet spot I always jump as hard as I can. If I ever feel the board is gonna slip off my feet I grab or catch the rails. Landing is good to wide away your stance so you dont fall and hurt yourself. Then just adjust to your default stance.

When you mentioned that part about aiming too vertical the surfer will do a Vertical snap right? Another cool trick but quite close to the aerial. Aiming at sections of the wave is really important indeed to surfing as it gets your shots right.

Hey Josh, as a skater who has no issue doing fs airs and fs disasters whenever I try straighties surfing (have landed a few but never too high above the lip and on small/medium size waves), as soon as I get to the point exactly at 3:35, I manage to take off and keep the board under stuck to my feet but then I just fall backwards and land on my back. I struggle to get to the point at 4:32 and I really don’t know why or how to fix it. Any suggestions?

Focus your point of view on your landing point, helps for me all the time. It’s makes you lean more forward. (My airs are still tiny tho)

@@Miles_Goodson_Bangs_Kids my view is pretty much similar on that. I mean Pro Surfers know what tricks they should focus on because those are the ones that score much more. They also know that not every trick can be performed on every wave as it depends on water volume, how steep it is, breaking or just about to... then it's safer to bet on the more assured ones. But it kinda makes surfing too repetitive. Floaters are also rare to be seen. Let alone rodeo flips, kerrupt flips and carvings.

you walk up there, you stand there for a bit, you walk back and stand somewhere else. If you need to practice, it's basically the same steps as ordering food at the in n out counter.
