Just to point out, there is not miles of flat land with reources just below on Earth. The one thing this video fails to point out is that thousands of km of forest and slashed and burned to make space for these mines

I wonder why don't they use the big hole left behind,as man made lake to either help the cities around,or if too far out,use it for small or big farming,depend on size the lake?! specially if the under ground dirt has more nutrition than surface dirt,they can use it to spread it around cheaper than putting it back after they are done mining
