Manny Aloha, the artist who created the Honolulu Surf Film Festival poster, formed a group called the Surf Poets Society. It began with poets whose content featured surfing and the ocean, but it has grown into a more expansive group that includes other forms of the visual arts working on the same topic. This video will only present poets reciting their poetry live at this Film Festival event.
The question also arose as to the place of Artificial Intelligence generated literature and art in this space. That discussion still remains open.
