Been going to Surf Kitchen for yrs n easily the most popular n busiest best value Thai restaurant in Jomtien. The thai food & sushi is very good value & the service is quick & excellent…hence always busy there. You dined in the posh aircon bit!! 😉😎👍🏻

I like all the options. I. Prefer Western or Eoropean breakfast. BUT. I love Thai food for lunch and Dinner.

Been a few times over the past couple of months and never disappointed. A testament to how how good it is is how long it been going and the number of tourist and expats there. Always busy any time of day but service is excellent and prices reasonable. As you say a great place to try a few Thai dishes. Their menu is vast.

Ate there once...but just kind of an afternoon starter when I came back from Immigration. Stayed 3 months in soi 5 Pratamnak and did in total 47 different restaurants and 129 visits . Best resto there is Cajun Life Café ( try the Gumbo chicken/saussage/shrimp ) , then Sands ( but you pay service costs ) , and then Chicha . Nearby is ' Au bon coin ' , French , not cheap , not open every day , but you get quality and most is made a la minute ...so if you f.i. opt for the apple pie ...it will take 30min because they make it from scratch to the oven ...they got an award in 2003 for one of the best restaurants in Thailand. Others such as Cabbages & Condoms , Two Phum Puy , Hemingways are also good. In Pattaya itself I found Patrick's steakhouse very good and Café Pitini best for price quality/quantity as Beergarden. Lou's café ( sideways 3rd road ) a good coffee house. Other good ones : The Nest , Wine Connection, Beer Hub . There were a few others on my list of to do : such as VN Garden , but you told me when I met you in Soi 5 that it was closed due to chef having a motoraccident . Then there is Maharani , but I did not find how to get there . The worst I encountered : Fat Coco , Happa Grill .

Great video - as always it's fun to watch the dynamics between Nong and yourself - obviously lots of fun and affection ❤ .. Personal note and a follow on from a comment I made a few weeks ago about heading off on a scooter from New Plaza to Sailor Bar. This restaurant was where I took the same scooter driver for somewhere different - not only the location but we used Bolt so she wouldn't have to carry this fal(r)ang pillion!! The location was terrific and agree re prices / food (not that I'm a foodie - noodles or rice and I'm happy) .. I'll be back in 5 weeks to explore some more places - 55 with the same scooter driver (restaurant between soi 4 / 5 Pratchumak will be on the list)

You have been with Nong 10 years...gotta be a record for a farlang and a Thai girl...she's seems always in a good mood and treats you very well...she's a keeper for sure👍

I ate there a few times last year (May) and enjoyed it very much. IMO one of the best places to try out different Thai dishes is Pier 21 in Terminal 21. The food there is generally all good but nothing is great. Spiced but not too much (add chillies/spicy-sauces to taste). It's a place to get an idea of whether you want to try it again at other more 'international' places, but it only costs 40-60 Baht (did?) instead of 150++ it can do in the international places.

Chicken Cashew Nut at the restaurant at the back of the beer bars just before Walking Street. That was one of the restaurants I would go for this dish. It is the restaurant right on the edge of the water. Aroy mak!

Great stuff David. I’m not really a foodie but I think a good way to explore Thai food is in the food courts such as Big C or Central Mall. If you get something you don’t like then it’s so cheap then you don’t mind leaving it. Though I appreciate if you are on a date then you may have to make more of an effort or you’ll be dumped for being a Cheap Charlie.

On the video the Penang was probably the worst dish, but since then we have returned many times and they make it nice, not spicy but full of flavour and crushed nuts 🙏🙏

My Thai is very limited. The only times I have any issues is when I have car problems to get fixed. Then Nong speaks to them 🙏🙏

Yep, skip the Western rubbish and eat proper food - Thai food.
