You should try smoking the pompano whole -- stuff them with thyme/rosemary/garlic cloves, score each side diagonally, brush it with olive oil, and give it a good covering of salt/pepper/garlic powder/onion powder/oregano. Smoke it with your favorite wood & chunk charcoal. It's great for the 11-13" dinks.

I would throw it back. Especially since you already had two. That way it might get to that 14 in so you can catch it again.

Any fish I keep with a minimum size limit has to have at least 1/2 inch "comfort zone." Don't want a ticket.

Fall Pompano bite is usually pretty good up until Decemeber. Still around in Decemeber too, just not as many. I fish anywhere from Navarre to Fort Pickens. If you get back out to the beach good luck!

Good call to pass on the close measure. Keeping it would insure that F&W officer would happen onto you and want to check.
