FYI - I've been using the ceramic anti seize for my suppressors (I have an 556 RC2, sandman L, etc.), seems to work better than copper (ceramic stuff is rated to 3000F) seems to last a little longer.

Nice, you put it on a full auto lower. My coworker got 1 of those rare breed triggers and his sandman s spits a flash out every 5-7 rounds and my Socom556 rc2 does a dam good job of getting rid of the flash. Its good to see we think alot alike

If your friend adds the flash hider cap to the Sandman he will get the same flash suppression as your surefire for about $300 less than what you paid.

Great review is it possible to have a flash test at night on the 10.5? How was the gas blowback?

Very cool video and very helpful! I have a DD MK18 and a DD M4A1 and I was stuck between getting a dedicated RC2 or getting the 7.62 mini in case I want to do a .30 cal build in the future. You mentioned that you’ve fired the RC2, so my question to you is: do you think the sound reduction from the RC2 is substantial enough to justify getting a dedicated can or was the 7.62 Mini good enough? Sorry if it’s a dumb question

I'm just seeing this. Sorry. Honestly, 5.56 isn't quiet no matter what you do. It's just the nature of the beast. The video clip of the 416 full auto in this video (13:40) was with the 556 RC2. To address the question is there a difference? Yes. A small one. Is it worth it? No, not if sound is your only goal. One thing that you do compromise is flash going to the larger bore. I will eventually get a 556 mini 2 but not to run on my sbr as ive been told it's roughly the same compromise as running the 30 cal can, but running it on the longer guns. In summation, don't get too caught up on meter numbers (i was there). If the caliber breaks the sound barrier, it's loud. If you want to be quiet, use subsonic 300 or 22. If it's worth anything, I've been to more than a few NFA shoots and shot probably over 100 different cans at this point.

I have a MK18 10.3” with the correct gas port and a Socom 7.62 Mini. It does almost nothing in terms of sound suppression it sounds like a normal gun shot. And there’s also huge flames coming out the end. Go with a 5.56 Can. You’re spending $1300 for almost no difference with this can on a 5.56 SBR.

Do not chase decibels The bigger issue is flash On a Mk18 you have a HUGE amount of unburned powder that is pushed behind your bullet and igniting as it goes; this is why it's so flashy Using a mini on this is basically using the world's most expensive linear comp You want the full size RC2 (or SB2) in 5.56 to tamp that down as much as possible > in case For a .300 blk you want LIGHT, to complement the short light nature of an 8" and the fact that any subsonic .300 application is firing a minimum of shots anyway RC2s in any format are not light The RC2 762 mini is for the 16 .308s like the SCAR17S It is best to complement each use case than to have a "do all" that does all in some way you don't like A full size RC2 556 will suit both the Mk18 and 14.5" M4, so get that The mini is only about an inch shorter anyway

If someone has a correctly installed surefire device on a 300 upper I dont mind putting my can on for science.

Does anyone know how this can would preform on a 9" MCX virtus running .300BLK subs? Or is there a vid out there on it?

Runs fine on a rattler, not the quietist but surefires aren't usually.

Does it fit the regular 5.56 flash suppressor from surefire?

All the shooting video is on 556 platforms and surefire doesn't make a 30 cal device in 1/2x28. So yes, it'll fit on their socom series of devices.

You like these better than the DA Sandman Line? What kind of NVGs are you running?
