I've had this exact model for 9 months. It was my first surefire and I love it. It seems to be pretty tough. It has survived many drops onto concrete with no damage

Good review. Short and simple. Also you've had it for a year, so you could report any issues with it.

Squiblift 4 years later only issue I’ve had is a tail switch that went bad on me, they shipped out a new one at no cost

@@EDC_Tactical I'm looking for a quality, American made EDC that only has 2 modes: no strobe or any of that BS. The only thing I don't see on it is a belt clip.

if you plan on using this often i recommend rechargeable 16650 batteries from keepower and orbtronic. works perfectly in my fury pro. for some reason they dont work well in my e2d though. also solarforce pocket clips fit on the g2x. just put on a rubber o ring and that should take up the slack. prometheus is another maker for a very nice pocket clip but its more expensive. i have the thrym switchback as well...but im not a huge fan of it. the g2x is durable and my pick for an emergency light. g2g for a rifle light as well. i keep the 16650 battery in my fury and save the surefire cr123a's for emergency and backup. a cheap charger like the nitecore intellicharger i2 and a 16650 battery will cost you about 20-30 bucks and last you a long time. worth it. the fury isnt like crazy brighter than the g2x when going from the 320 lumen model g2x to the 500 lumen fury. i was dumb enough to trade 2 g2x's for 1 fury so i found that out the hard way lol

These are great flashlights. CR123 batteries are readily available and retain 80% of their power after 10 yrs. These are perfect long term emergency lights when the SHTF. Rechargeable 16650 batteries work with this light when electricity is available. Those fancy 18650 rechargeable batteries are worthless if you don't have electricity to power the charger.

I get it, surefire makes a solid flashlight. But why would I want to spend $60 on a light that requires me to constantly buy obscure sized batteries that are not cheap either, when I could buy something like an olight S1 with a rechargeable battery for less money than this light. And the olight also has a higher lumen output as well! Honestly, nothing irritates me more than a flashlight that just chews through batteries, especially expensive obscure sized batteries!

Dan Schwemin Jr sick a $17 16650 2500mah Rechargeable in the G2x Pro, get way more battery life, good for around 500 or more cycles, be happy and stop spreading miss information that Surefires can't take Rechargeables.

By the way I own 30ish flashlights from cheap to $300, from Fenix to Elzetta and Malkoff. I have 7 Olight's, they are not as durable as Surefire, I've had my s30r2 break and my S2R break due to drops within their spec range, that's $160 of broken lights. You may be happy that it has higher lumens but when it fails you one day when you need it hopefully not depending on it for an emergency you will wish you had a Surefire or better. My Olight's now reside as my back up only lights in bags. Out of my 6 Surefires that I've owned longer, ive never had one break. Only good thing about Olight is that they fixed my S2R and replaced my S30r2 with them next generation. Let me tell you a little secret about flash lights.. if you stick a rechargeable batteries in a light that fits in the tube (sometimes you may need a dummy battery to act as a spacer if the rechargeable doesn't take up the tube, to complete the Circuit) and is within the voltage range of your flashlight you can run that light off a rechargeable. Reference "tacticalenlightenments" video. Hell I run the cheap ass $1 ozark trail light at Walmart off a 14500

Dan Schwemin Jr I'm not here to bash SureFire but no kidding... I can by three Fenix lights that perform equally well for the price of my G2 and AA and AAA batteries at a fraction of the cost of the 123A battery. I so want the Titan but can not believe the price they are asking for it. Overpriced! Yes, at least you can use common batteries. so sad...

Then you want an EDC light, not a tactical light.
