Supro 1624T Dual-Tone 1x12 Combo

This is the all new Supro 1624T Dual-Tone, a lovingly re-engineered reissue of Supro's most legendary, sought-after amplifier. Just like its predecessor, the new Dual-Tone is a very portable 24-watt, 1x12 combo powered by a pair of 6973 power tubes, which though they may appear to be similar to EL84's, are quite a different animal altogether, with a big, firm voice and robust output that results in an uncommonly bold, compressed clean tone that magically transforms into that signature Supro grind when the amp is cranked. You can make the most of this impressive palette of sounds with the Dual-Tone's two channels, which when linked, double both input signal and gain, and allow for simple channel switching with any A/B switch. This amp's feature set is further rounded out with a vintage correct, lightweight cabinet covered in Supro's signature Blue Rhino Hide tolex, and a custom designed Supro/Eminence 12" ceramic magnet speaker (DT12), contributing to both its vintage good looks, and its rich, complex range of tones. Like all Supro amps, the 1624T Dual-Tone is made in the USA, and features custom-designed transformers and precisely matched, military-spec tubes.

Don't hear the slide + wah combination often enough. Tasty!
Incredible amp. I had no choice but to buy one after I tried it. Nice playing as always Andy
andy, you've taken the equipment demos to the next level. Keep it up
Andy is always inspiring.I learn a lot every time I watch him.
Excellent demonstration - it's my goal to buy one now, what a classic sound. Thanks for making and sharing the video!
That sounds fucking tasty :) Fantastic playing as usual Andy, You're the reason we all keep coming back .Whatever they pay you ,it isn't enough :)

Cian Whelan Yeah, the reviews are great, but half the time I watch these, it's just to hear this guy rock.
Definitely something I'd consider if I want to upgrade. Very nice sound indeed!
I love it when Andy plays RHCP.

I love it when Andy plays.
Man, I miss my Dual Tone! It just sounds so great! I absolutely love it to death. I hate that it's just gathering dust in my parent's basement. I need to find a way to get it back!
Fantastic! Really enjoyed "Living Loving Maid."
great interpretation of a super classic. Living Loving Maid 1969
Awesome playing man!
This sounds great!
Bought time I see NO THUMBS DOWN. This amp ROCKS. Just nails that Zeppelin tone. I am going to test one out now. Relatively affordable considering some of the high prices that boutique amps are fetching..
Great Jam!
Hmmm the neck pickup on that start is sweet sounding!!
Still love mine, couldn't bear to part with it.
Outstanding young man, outstanding! :-)
Happy 420 ===~~
Wish you guys would make another dark green Humboldt hot rod in celebration of 4/20
Nice!
I miss these PGS demos. The Reverb demos are close but just not the same vibe. Location, location, location.
Does this amp have an extension speaker jack?

I really like the sound of that amp. There is such an overwhelming amount of great guitar gear out there... It's a shame that the local guitar shops in my city don't have a wider selection of amplifiers. I'm curious to know, Andy--what is your favorite amp?

Alex McMillan He uses a Deluxe Reverb for pretty much every demo, so that would be a good guess.

Steven Chabot I had considered that. But then again he might only use the Deluxe Reverb for PGS videos.

He used a 65 Amps Soho for a while.
I thought I didn’t like Supro amps because I always heard them with their overdriven tone featured. But I just tried this amp and the cleans were fantastic. I went to buy a Deluxe Reverb, but this amp made it sound dull and anemic. Now I’m confused….
Just wow
the weird thing is that I have seen a picture of the inside and there appear to be a big 15W 200r cement resistor between the 6973 tubes which indicates that the amp is cathode biased.. If the amp is cathode biased you can't expect to get more than 17W out of it according to the old datasheet.. 24W is with fixed bias and a high plate voltage..

Old comment, I know, but it seems Supro fudges the wattage numbers regularly, especially when it comes to their class A cathode-biased amps. There's no way a class A 6V6 amp is running 25w. AB, yes. It's weird.
i really wish Supro would get the Jimmy Page amp right..supposed to be a Coronado with 6L6 tubes and a single 12Inch speaker that he put in himself. that being said, these amps do kick ass.

They have the Black Magick now...still not THE JP amp, they are giving it 6973 tubes for some reason, while Jimmy's amp had 6L6 tubes back in the day. The Black Magick still sounds great and looks like the original tho, so props to the Supro team there

+Mike Teixeira yeah - saw that and also noticed 6973 tubes- you're right-STILL not the JP- I stand by my previous statement ha- Zinky does have those Stones contacts so I guess it's not completely out of the question?

They make adapters to fit 6V6 into a 6973 socket. Not sure if they do for 6L6, but for the wattage, you don't need 6L6.

Thats actually incorrect. This was the amp he first used on zep 1. And stairway to heaven. This is the most famous tone. Confirmed by his guitar tech. He was using this and a very small wattage one at the time. Later on he used the one in the r&r hall of fame. With the changed speaker. Altho he used many. He used a lot of different supros. Surpos are zep

That "idiotic tremolo" is one of the staple features of the amp. So you are hearing the amp.

Oh holy shit dude you insulted me on the Internet! Fuck man I just can't take it. This is really getting to me. Im goin to go ahead and assume your response that was unrelated in any way, and clearly only existed as your last attempt at having the last word, was admitting that I'm right. You're like that kid who's told to stop being obnoxious because he doesn't know what he's talking about and when faced with facts he responds with "oh yeah well you're a big dumb Poopyhead" and thinks that he's won.
