Jesse doesn't get enough credit for his work in Emmure. Dude is hell of a player and songwriter.

И да и нет, его работы стали поистине культовыми как и его звук, люди хотят это и переслушивают это но не задаются вопросом что это сделал Джесси
As a teenager, that early Emmure really made me want a 7 string. You talk about your influences here but YOU were that influence for me. We met once back in 2007 during the tour with All Shall Perish at the skatepark of Memphis, first and only time seeing you guys live but it really solidified in my mind how cool the RG body looks. Needless to say, I now own an RG 7 string (albeit the cheaper GIO model but still). I jam some of those old tracks on it from time to time.

@@jessekjamz where can I check out your more recent material, my dude?
something about those old 90's era RG's still goes so hard
I remember the KZread video you did for Ibanez. When yall dropped Felony album!!
You’re the reason I play RGD’s. Been in love with them since you did the original promo video back in the day.
If and when the black NY 7 string ever comes up for sale again, I will NOT sleep on it again. You and that guitar are the reason I play a 7 string daily
Ibanez reverse headstock is the greatest of all time. Also I would die for a tune o matic ibanez.
Your taste in guitars is amazing, makes me want to get into 7 strings again
This is awesome! I met you twice we talked about ibanez guitars and emg pickups the first time we met. The second time you recognized me and said “emg pickups guy!” I was born in 82, we have very much the same taste in gear got my first RG7620 in 1998. Been wondering what youve been up to these days, was not expecting you when i clicked on this! You are one of my biggest influences, and one of my favorite stories from going back stage at warped.
From one guitarist to another: Thanks for putting out these videos! Emmure’s guitar parts play a huge role in how I write music to this day. From one sneaker head to another: Show us your kicks!

Thanks! Haha now that would be a LONG video 😂🎉
I remember seeing you in the EU shows back in the day, it SLAPPED. Thanks for giving me a awesome night!
So good to see the gear, the playthroughs, and the thought process behind some of my favorite tunes. Hope you continue making vids!
Ibanez and Ford 🤔.... 😳😍💪💯. Built tough for ultimate shredding 😁
Emmure is one of the main bands that got me to go for a 7 string! Went from a basic Fender Squier Bullet to an Ibanez 7 string (cheapest from Guitar Center, GRG7221).
Dude I love this! Been a huge fan of your playing since I first heard Goodbye to the Gallows. Thanks for the insight into your stuff, looking forward to more vids haha
Yooo Jesse!! It’s Jay, Just bumped into this just now. Glad I did. Good to see you doing your thing still. Hope everything is going well with you down in TN. Lemme know whenever you’re back in NY. We gotta link up!
man when I was like 13 I saw that ad of you playing the black RGD7421? I think it was and ever since I've always wanted that guitar. Still one of the dopest designs I've seen in my opinion. Maybe one day ill get my hands on one
I’ve been wanting to know about the white RG for a long time! Awesome video Jesse🔥
bro when I seen your emmure lax custom shop guitars on the used market. I thought you had to get rid of all your gear because of hard times but I'm glad to see that you kept some of it. I'm glad to see you're still doing music thing to.
Oh,finally❤
Jesse you a real one!! Tru' 7 String HOSS!!
awesome video! yup, you're the reason I bought myself an prestige RGD2127Z
been loving these vids man can't wait to see more!
Thanks for sharing your Ibanez story🎉
Awesome man,, thanks for sharing
I did enjoy the walk down Ibanez memory lane! I love all of this content, stoked for more!
I saw you playing that Live in Springfield Mo, several times. Love your style buddy! Definitely an inspiration. Keep pushing 💪 and dm for colabs.
I’ve always wondered about that blue burst one. One of the sickest guitars I’ve ever seen and the simplicity makes it that much better.
I grew up listening to tons of bands that played Ibanez, and it's what made them my favorite brand of all time. Korn, Meshuggah, Fear Factory, and then you and Mike later in my early 20's!
Thanks!
AWESOME bro
Even though I never got an Ibanez because I’m lefty and the customization is very limited for me, you and Mike made me want a one pickup RG so bad! Great video. 🔥
I cant decide if I should buy an Ibanez 7 string bc my 6 string Jacksons work for low tunings. But theres something really cool about 7 strings especially the Ibanez ones that were the pioneers. Great video man ❤
Yes your dad is cool dude… I know him from lesson studio I managed on Long Island , He brought me to one of your shows and I met you on the tour bus. he got you a cool guitar too!

Thank you so much for the story! Mr. Ketive, do you currently play in any bands?
Sick fucking Ibby's dude! Man, it's weird; I remember hanging out downstairs at In The Venue in SLC yeaaaars ago before you parted ways. Always wondered how you were doing and if you had any new projects! I'm glad to see you on here; maybe I'll throw up some Emmure covers, brother!
When I was younger I was at my friends house and he told me to check this song out. It was the music video for “10 Signs You Should Leave”. From that point on I’ve been obsessed with heavy music and it’s the reason I started playing guitar. So what I’m getting at is this is your fault lol
Awesome guitars! Ax fx presets next!

Do still own the Yankee ones? If so, could you please do a video on them?
GETWORK...
1 pickup and a single volume knob is hard as fuck.
SH5! I have my answer :) i'm not surprised with that chug. I love this pickup. Did you try different pickups (specially SD) to finally find the one?
@jessekjamz
3 ай бұрын
Yeah the Fishman and Bareknuckles were indeed sick.. but the way i dig in and play, the passive SH5 seemed to edge out the competition!
So sick to see you on KZread, Looked up to you as a guitarist for a long time and it’s so cool to see you talk about the beautiful Ibanez guitars you have. I was wondering if maybe you’d do a dive into how/why you started incorporating the digitech whammy into Emmure songs?
@jessekjamz
3 ай бұрын
Korn and Pantera. Been a huge fan since about 1995/6 or so and always loved the erie/wild sounds the whammy did. Noone really at all was using it in 2005/6 when we decided to incorperate it in the sound!
After rewatching this video and browsing reverb and seeing RGD models with the normal Ibanez headstock, I realize The RGD body looks way better with a reverse headstock. I know on your NY Yankees RGDs you were using EMG pickups, was there a particular reason you switched to passive pickups on your later custom models
@jessekjamz

Ended up finding out that i like the less aggressive tone that passives give. I can dig in harder and adjust my settings more. Active kinda brings all the frequencies to the front.🎉
Hey Jesse I was wondering what string gauges did you use and scale lengths for what tunings?
@jessekjamz
Ай бұрын
Hey! The white guitar is a standard 7 string scale I believe 25.5” and i use 10-62. For the custom RGD’s they are 27” scale and I use 9-60’s 🎉
@jesse that is a bad ass fucking guitar bro! Dude we need to hook up with Korn this year will be different bro!
What was the most frustrating song on your part to record ? Like tuning or writing or just in general
@jessekjamz
2 ай бұрын
Usually its odd chord/phrasing on the neck that would pull the strings a tiny bit out of tune. Chasing that could be hectic!
Are you playing or writing at all still?
Do you have any old videos of you guys playing live?

first time i ever heard 7 string guitars was Morbid Angel's Covenant. Still one of the heaviest albums ever made. I don't even think Ibanez sold 7 strings in the US back then. I think they were custom ordering them straight from Japan back in 92/93. Same as you, i was obsessed ever since. Cheers m8
