Yes very good sport. I wonder if its a sound issue or bug? You normally get a warning if your commander is under attack.

Even I get spectator fatigue watching, hats off to the players.

Gyle, you always apologize for "zooming in-and-out", but I'm puzzled as to why? I LOVE how you cover these games and zooming in on interesting events is part of the charm. Never stop zoomin' boyo! : D

10M!!! I'm shocked! Thank you Gyle for doing your great part. About the game: UEF vs Cybran - classics.

Man do I miss Gyle casts, been over on the Brink side of FAF a bit too long, it’s strange to see the units again! always loved your balance of strategic view and getting up close on the action, not to mention the commentary, not too loud/quiet, not overly esthetic, but still conveys the flow of the game perfectly.

Very occasionally i watch a few of these. So nice to always find this guy enthusiastically doing his shit.

so Scathis is now t4 minigun arty. This is so soviet.

Idk the scathis spray is great for killing armies, but trash for experimentals and bases. The Mavor is unstoppable when it comes to bases

Yeah I think the Mavor is far more accurate and therefore better at taking out individual buildings quickly (especially nuke defences which then let you clear out the whole base with the nuke). Scathis is great for just causing random damage and keeping your opponent busy rebuilding random stuff.

@@diliff Salvation is still the best - decent at both target killing (as it spreads its damage pretty evenly over its area) and at large scale devastation (since it hits a large area). Mavor is great for precision, and Scathis for coverage, but Aeon can do both pretty well. You can even use the Salvation pretty effectively against mobile armies!

@@ArawnOfAnnwn salvation is not great at killing buildings and terrible against units (each projectile doesn't do enough damage or AOE). It's more of a shield breaker than anything. Seems to work best with regular T3 arty. Salvation breaks the shields, regular arty comes in after and takes out buildings far better.

@@diliff Sure Salvation doesn't have damage, it's not meant to - it makes up for that with rapid-fire bombardment. Death through a thousand cuts can be just as deadly as a few big swings.

Wow! What an incredible cast! Both teams did exactly what their factions favor, UEF brute force and Cybrans adaptability. My only gripe is that my favorite Cybran unit, the Salem, was a no show;( but that scathis tho, I didn't know they buffed that!! Excellent Gyle, great work on the cast

The Scathis is actually quite well balanced. Against a spread out base/eco it's quite good. It shreds spread unshielded bases. But in the case of a well shielded, more focused base it struggles to even penetrate the shields. It's like the opposite of the Mavor. You can also still move it which is a really nice little bonus especially if it gets spotted and targeted. You could move it to a new position or another well shielded portion of your base. With mobile stealth Gen it could be annoying to deal with.

This is precisely why it seemed to be so effective, it coudn't miss, isen had a literal fuck ton of stuff all over the entire map.

On the other hand if kot had used salems at any point he could have held the land bridge and stopped entry into the north pond. I feel like I was praying for salems through the entire match XD unless they've been nerfed recently?

The Scathis is utterly terrifying I can imagine that on a fully developed base it'll be hell even better than the rapid fire artillery

It does cost close to it if Im not wrong. And personally, while it looks cool, it takes forever to actually deal any substantial damage to anything with a Scathis. Mavor / Salvation are much better at destroying bases, especially since you can snipe SMD with them.

He indeed lost because of it. He could've build that Mavoir earlier, or some Fat Boys to clear out everything on the land, but instead tried to invade the enemy base with Titans (it' understandable tho, blue has been fighting for over an hour, I admire and respect these players)

Quality play from both of them, hard to know which way it was going at times.

Stop apologizing for zooming in and out Gyle. There is absolutely nothing about your castings that irritates me. Your commentary is always as epic as this game was. Keep up the good work. That said, this game was an absolute treat to watch. Well played by both players.

1v1 on a 4v4 map, the level of macro and attention, it makes my brain hurt just thinking about it.

Game seems to have been updated a lot by FAF in the many years since I played. That scathis was crazy and I thought nukes erased all shields and just.... boooom? No? Must be something changed over the many years. I don't remember anything being able to take a direct nuke but then again that was a strategical missile sub nuke so its weaker right? Was nice to listen to this while doing chores.

Yeah, a sub-nuke is considerably weaker, only dealing 45k damage If Im not mistaken.

After seeing this, I'd like to see more 1 v 1 on Setons!

I love how Kot let his opponent know that he had misclicked or something with his com and was going to lose if he didn't move it. That's great sportsmanship.

I was constantly waiting for Inspektor Kot to make use of some stealth boats, especially with the cruiser and battleship squads, or for that short lived naval base close to Isen's base. Similarly stealth towers or mobile vehicles on land in the base.

hi, i have a question. in this and in another matches before i dont see any player using engi´s or mcu for supporting shield dome to switch the passiv reg to activ reg "how mcu shield reg" with fast recovery. :)

New to FAF, what's the best way to learn how to play competitively? Also is accumulated mass simply the sum of all income over time or is it the sum of the costs of all things someone has still on the map?

The accumulated mass is the amount of mass each team has harvested and extracted over the course of the game, only way to learn is to practice :D

if you want to become better in 1v1 you should watch a few of heavens and jagged appliances videos. heavens bit outdated but basics still hold true. jagged does replay comments on highlvl 1v1s and you can learn a ton. But in the end only thing that will get you better is playing a lot of 1v1s. dont go in for team games like astrocrater, no matter how much "fun" you can have there. its the 1v1s that train you to take care of stuff, get an idea of map control, eco balancing and so forth

at 27:40 kot is slaughtering himself with his mobile arty cause they are aiming for the percys XD

Scathis could maybe do less damage? Or have a longer reload time?

After all that happened, dying to torpedo bombers is just underwhelming :D

He should have done a split-attack on the red TMDs and then on the T2 Artys with all his Cruisers. It took so long to kill all these single targets :D

They're easily taken out by t1 artillery. People still use them, but it's gotta be pretty deliberate.

Hi Gyle. I haven't watched yet but dropped a like anyways, will watch tomorrow morning. Just wanted to help out a bit with a player names. Isekai Chan: the I is pronounced E. So it's pronounced E-se(like Seth) Kai.

Really hurt me not to see patrolling T1 interceptors along the coasts early on from Isen.

Im surprised that isen didnt include a sup com/t3 engi with his continental landings. Its good to drop some offensive units and shield them + build AA asap. In such a 1v1 game where attention is spread out, its actually quite good go drop only engis and build stealth gen as soon as u land. Then keep building a new base until u are detected.

One thing I've always wondered is, why do the Aeon get five experimentals, more than anyone else? Good to see Cybrans finally have a real game-ender level artillery experimental comparable to the mavor and salvation.

Well the Salvation was originally "just" a T3 in vanilla FA, despite being as expensive and powerful as many experimentals. It was only reclassed as an experimental recently by the FAF devs.

Was this a game where Loyalist Tactical missile redirection made a huge difference and killed the cruisers that the Scathis didn't get?

noob question here. wtf happened to the experimental artillery? does this game still get balance patches? I so surprised, this game is so old

FAF is a client made by fans and yes, they are doing patches still to this day.

yes but you need to download the Forged alliance forever Louncher than you can play online in ranked matches or fight against the AI.

Hello i just reinstall this game on windows 10 64bit pro via steam and for some reason im not getting any audio when mission briefing or intro just music ???? and when exiting the game i get white gray box cannot close it in task manager but to restart pc to get rid of it been trying to run this game for years now kinda miss it :) but no luck from my end, everything is updatet on my end btw. ty for the upload subscribed :)

Looks like both players were fighting against the 1k unit cap for most of that game. No room for units when your buildings alone use up half of it.

I would have liked one of the Mavis to at least get a few shots off. Good game either way. I’m surprised the fat boys were used quite do recklessly but I think he saw blood but underestimated the south sea forces.

I dont see why people dont destroy that hord of naval bombardment with nukes, t3 artys because the naval bombardment is what ultimatly kills you in setons because it kills your chance of expansions and your squeezed to death. Longest mistake still of setons games.

Yeah, that bugged me, too. Kot had all the time to pepper that fleet with his Disruptors. But, as Gyle mentioned, he was probably already suffering from "SupCom fatigue".
