This was perfect. I now understand it well. Thank you. I have partial tears in the supraspinatus tendon on both sides. I decided yesterday like a idiot to do side lateral raises with dumbbells cause I felt like training. Now I’m in ridiculous pain that’s radiating all around the shoulder joint and up my neck. So for anyone reading this. Don’t do side laterals lol

How’s your shoulder? Was it actually a tear, did you visit a doctor to examine? How long did it take to heal?

@@Ibz87 that’s unfortunate to hear, so you do work physical labour too, that even will put more stress on recovery process, are you still in pain? Have you considered training that injured area and supporting muscles with very light training like a weight that you can handle. If you don’t train they will get weaker overtime and more prone to further damage, I don’t know how bad the situation is but I would recommend as a rehab to do comfortable light liftings with very light weight just to strengthen, increase blood flow and promote some hypertrophy. Just be careful to not overdo it to make injury worse, as I said a light comfortable training that you can handle. I hope it’s not so bad that it needs surgery

I grew up in the 🌎 of Bodybuilding since I was 12 years old and lived the Bodybuilding lifestyle for over 25 years and still work out today. I just turned 55 years old earlier this month and I get told all the time I don't look a day over 35 years old so bodybuilding, fitness and exercise are the fountain of youth and it's never too late to start reaping the benefits of bodybuilding type workouts. This is a superb and outstanding illustration and intricate explanation of the Supraspinatus and what is known as the shoulder girdle. Out of all of the anatomy charts I've seen over the years this one definitely blows me away and bolsters my passion for human anatomy and it's unlimited potential for physical development. Bravo Señor!!! 😇 My childhood Bodybuilding heroes were the immortal Steve Reeves, Lou Ferrigno (The Incredible Hulk), Arnold Schwarzenegger (The Terminator) and Dr. Franco Columbu Arnold's best friend and training partner for decades who also won Mr. Olympia and Mr. Universe titles in his own right. Franco recently passed away 08.30.19 at 78 years of age and his passing is lamented by the Bodybuilding 🌎 especially, Arnold. R.I.P. Franco you'll be missed!!! 🙏😇

Thank you very much. I’ve had pain throughout this area for months and it’s been very hard to describe due to its “radiating” nature. This video made it make sense and I feel prepared to accurately describe it to my medical provider.

You said that (quote) it is often taught that the Suprapinatus muscle is engaged when the arm is rising in a 30 degrees angle is incorrect. What is the entire engagement of this muscle? Is it engaged when moving the arm sideways, not necessarily 30 degrees??

The real question is, can a partially damaged supraspinatus heal on its own (regenerate, regrow)? If no, why not. If yes, how long does it generally take? If anyone had a supraspinatus injury and got better, please reply and share your experience

It's played in Latin and Greek lol. Genuinely if you can learn the general prefixes and suffixes of anatomy (Major = Large, Minor = Small, Supra = Above, Infra = Below) everything becomes basically self explanatory. Less memorization and more connecting pieces together and understanding things as a whole :)
