This was one of the best Ultimate sets I've watched. So exciting seeing Bowser win against Nairo, a smash God. LeoN's Bowser was so good, and it's a character that's so interesting to watch.

LeoN has the most Shmoovin neutral space-play I have ever seen in my life. He knows exactly when to back up and when to push forward. It's amazing how many times he got those baits

LeoN is a beast, I love watching his gameplay

This was so pure, the hug at the end, 4's bowser onto ultimates, ofc nairo went for the hug I'm so touched I love leon and nairo this is happiness.

Michael 590 Ultimate Bowser is way different from Sm4sh Bowser. Nairo was good with Sm4sh Bowser because he was all about the grabs. Ultimate Bowser is not.

slyfox373 me too. Playing Smash 4 honestly helped with my speed and reaction time, while also helping me get used to reads.

Leon is a legend. If there is one person who can win a major with a mid-tier heavy, it'll be Leon.

Nairo forgot to counter bowser’s up b recovery. He also could have run off baired in many opportunities before Leon initiated his up b but just jumped back to stage instead. Drop down bair like that prompts bowser to start up b’ing early, which is juicy for counter.

Side b to counter the counter, and cause him to either trade stocks (tends to be worse for the other person) or make it back on stage since it causes the pair to rise upwards

Canallin I think you can mash out of it like most suicide grabs, same with Ridley and Ganondorfs. Bowser got terrible vertical recovery, Palutena got great recovery, that means there’s a chance you basically just lend them a stock.

Simply put, the person being grabbed can mash out of the grab, and if they do so and recover, that stock would be wasted for a suicide play. The strat is best used when you are +1/+2 on stocks and the opponent is mid/high percent, and works better the lighter the person. Otherwise, it's more of a gimmick and used to disrespect your opponent.

In tournament you never want to give away a stock.. it works well online but you are playing against players who can come back from 1 stock to 3... keeping your stock at 120 % can be considered more favorable.

if they only have one stock though might be worth it... but palu has a great recovery and we all know Nairo can mash so there is a chance he lives and bowser simply loses a stock.

Nahh, as the commentators said, Bowser is really good at gimping Ganondorf and there are many good things for Bowser going in this matchup. Palu was def the better choice. Ganon wouldve been entertaining as heck tho.

@@GeometryDashDeeApple I feel like the only three things that Ganondorf need is mainly speed, optional side b, and somekind of projectile reflector. What I mean by the optional side is b is if you click b➡➡ Ganon will move foward like in Brawl and project M. If you click b➡⬅ he would move like the side b he has now. Now, with the protectile reflector Ganon's neutral attack should have some dark magic when he pushes his opponents. In my opinion if they add this it would be cool.

Leon needs to 2 frame teleport. As a mewtwo main It happens a lot since Bowser down tild is two hits. By the way Nairos has been beaten by his old smash4 characters Marss woth zss and now Bowser is almost poetic

Glentendo and Ajax are pretty good commentators.

It hurts me a bit that Nairo almost never used the counter. Leon noticed it and kept going for attacks that would have been easily countered consistently.

I'm saying he didn't use it, even when it would've been safe to, so Leon took advantage of it and started going for moves that would have been counterable consistently, like the dash attacks. Don't assume you know better.

As a bowser main, I think bowser is the easiest character to play. Stringing together long sequences is actually hard, it requires fast reactions, precise inputs, and frequent DI reads. Bowser can go hit for hit better than any other character, excels at punishing hard reads, and has one of the most solid out of shield options in the entire game. No time in the lab required

Ty S Have you ever chained a nair to 70% on a character like peach or paulutena? They make it look easy because their professionals but it’s very hard to get down in training mode much less a live fight. Bowser living until 200% and being able to kill at 70% is way more ridiculous than a highly skilled nair chain.

@@holylarcenist9596 Bowser arguably beats Ganon, or at worse goes even with him. Palu for sure beats Bowser, and is arguably Nairo's best character currently. LeoN just played super patient, and managed to out play Nairo enough here to win. Nairo adapted though, and beat LeoN in losers.

I'm a Bowser main, and he's great against all non zoners... But once you're matched with a good Link or Ness.. it is the most infuriating thing. He can easily be rendered useless... It's the only reason he isn't high tier.

Ugh I hate watching Palutena. Such a boring moveset. I like Nairo but I was rooting for Bowser.

Leon is obsessed with grabbing. Nairo spams spot dodge so incredibly dumb to do if your opponent uses fire breath it’s an easy thirty damage. To be fair it’s easy to say that watching the game and not playing. I learn so much from watching leon

Palutena is such an annoying character, ths nair is such a huge pain. Glad to see her lose.

Lazy as in easy to pick up his technique? Yes. Lazy as in braindead to play? No. It takes lots of skill to read your opponents and use Bowser’s strong punish game to destroy them for their mistakes. Bowser also requires tons of patience between combo food and its hard to mix up recovery to not get edgeguarded or ledgetrapped too much.

@@justin4fun490 Ah then yeah he's very easy for beginners to pick up, good intro a lot of fundamentals and very effective because of big hitboxes esp for aerials, immense damage and killpower, easy to land specials, and lots of weight and speed. Super user-friendly and, along with Mac, was the character I first played to learn the basics. As all characters, he still gets hard to optimize at high level play, but yes his technique is "lazy to pick up."
