My son used to play videogame Grand Theft Auto III in 2001 at his fourteen...one day com to me and ask me if I knew “some group call “Deodato” because he heard Superstrut in the game. I jump of happiness and run to show him my LPs

I was this kid, for sure (not in the literal context obv). Playing GTA 3 and Vice City growing up showcased many classics I already may have known, but also exposed me to entire new genres and music I would more than likely never gave a second thought.

For clarification Superstrut was actually premiered on GTA Vice City (based in the 80’s). Not III. Not that it really matters lol.

Who's watching this beautiful vid January 31. 2020??? I learned of this band waaaaaay back in the '70's!!! When I was a bartender ( I met my wife then). Dancing music par excellance.

September 23, 2021, still watching and wanting more and more of the legendary Deodato!! Guitars here are awesome!

That band is just awesome. Guitarist looks so easy, drummer rocks, bass has shoes on his bass. AWESOMENESS!!!

This song never gets old. Love these guys. I used to play trumpet and played the heck out of "Skyscrapers". Another great song by Deodato. It was a great warmup song for any performance, instrumental or vocal...Yeah....

My mother bought Prelude in 1972 When I was 4 Years old. I turned 55 Today. I stole Prelude from her in 1973. Still plays today.

holy crap!!!!! I forgot all about this tune!!!! What a great solo piece! takes me back to about 1976!!!

I have been in love with this man's music forever and it never gets old or fail to lift my spirit!! Still rockin it in 2019!!

Fenomenal una de las mejores piezas del gran Eumir Deodato, gratos recuerdos durante mi estadía en Redlands, California, por allá en 1977, de nuevo fenomenal, insuperable!!!!!!

La música es mágica y si viene de un grande es increíble. Gracias Eumir, escuchar su música me hace ver a mi papá, que en paz descanse, cuando la escuchaba. Le encantaba la de perro negro y el hotel de Adan. Saludos desde México

This is a good performance, but I think the best live performance Deodato ever did of "Superstrut" was live at the Mississippi River Jazz Festival in 1974. That performance was recorded and published on a vinyl LP, which I have. It is truly an awesome live performance, and makes you think you are there. Tight arrangement, and the instruments are clear, alive, and distinct.

Great to see Geraldo Velez on congas! He is awesome! I saw him with Spyro Gyra several times performing in Chicago area in the years 1977-1981. After his departure, Spyro Gyra never had a steady conga player on the band again.

Started playing ED music back in high school in the 70s it good just to hear super strut by my instructor and the rest of the groove department,I am so gald to be around to hear and learn great song that stand the test of time way to go mr deodoto love you guys my brothers

Fusion? This is proto-smooth jazz; little different from Chuck Mangeone, Four Play, Grover Washingto jr. Sounds pleasant, but it's e-z listening.

I've been a fan since '73. This sound never gets old!

I met this living god of music Deodato and his charming blonde wife in 2016. This beautiful man had turned himself into a kobold that night. But who cares? God is god, so why worry about looks? He was most kind. We took pictures. It is extremely rare to be able to get oneself onto a picture with a living god.

This song just reminds me of Vice City.

Bruce Gatewood is a phenomenal player . Had the privilege of working with him.

The guitarist can't imagine the big emotion I can feel, seeing him dancing with the beat of the music, mainly at the beginning.... It's simply amazing!

Great upbeat song, and rhythm we could sure use more of this in 2021. I wish the younger generation would be exposed to this feel good fun music. Love the way all the musicians are playing together and having a blast. Deodato embodies the spirit of Brazil and the great music of the 70's. The Italian audience knows good music, that's for sure. Namaste.
