This is one of my favourite episodes! Supernatural really lucked with Misha Collins, he’s one hell of an actor. The scene where he doesn’t say the prayer at the table always breaks my heart.

Misha is such a great actor. Even his voice and posture change when Cas comes in

@@darthken815 Yes, I just saw him at a Supernatural convention last weekend in Denver, and a various people requested he do the voice and he either politely refused or just said one word, as it causes him a little pain to do so now.

I think is very safe to say that Cas doesn’t have any idea how human emotions work, it’s basically what this episode wanted to show us I guess

more like this ep showed us Cas got no idea how humanity works period especially pertaining to family which is what the Winchesters specifically Dean are all about. probly why they butt heads so much

I really love this episode and Jimmy's storyline. Plus, its one of the first times that Misha Collins gets to really stretch his acting muscles! So good!

13:30 I love how Jimmy begs Castiel to take him instead of Claire it gets me everytime 😭😭 Also Claire would now understand more why Jimmy did what he did. vecause she said yes to Castiel after hearing him and experienced the same thing.

This episode is my fave from this season. Idk I honestly loved Cas from the jump and this episode gave us Jimmy and his connection to Cas and it also gave us how much he was caring about humans, especially Dean, to the point of scaring Heaven.

Yes, Misha is a fantastic actor. I love when he gets to act out of 'character.'

I feel like the demon blood is one of those double edged swords or the saying about how the road to hell is paved with the best of intentions. You know Sam cares about saving people but then he gets the shakes and you know its an addiction which means he's going through it mentally and emotionally. Can't wait to see the rest of your reactions, no spoilers but I'm so excited :D

I read a fan fic once about a young adult Claire who begins hunting/stalking Castiel to try to get him to re-possess her because she was addicted to the power it made her feel and that she liked it. It was really dark and creepy, needless to say.

I seriously cannot wait for next episode! I don’t know why but I absolutely adore the episodes were Sam is forced to lean off of the demon blood. It really shows Jared’s acting and ugghh it’s so good!! It’s heartbreaking, so emotional, it shows Sam ultimate vulnerable core. And Jared does such an amazing job. Plus he does it twice.

I think your insight of Castiels social naievity is quite accurate.

SPOILERS UNDER READ MORE I love this episode, one of my favourites! Misha's acting is incredible. His facial expressions, posture, his whole demeanour is different when he's playing Jimmy. You can tell he put a lot of thought into each character. Even if J2 thought he was a bit of a weirdo at first! 😆 Misha had a vision for his Cas and he was going to stick to it. Ooof the look on Dean's face when he sees Sam drinking from the demon 😬 He's probably absolutely terrified that John's 'If you can't save Sam you'll have to kill him' thing is coming true. SPOILERS FOR THE REST OF THE SHOW . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . I really wish they had more Cas-centric episodes. He has Millenias worth of interesting stories they could have explored. Especially with the knowledge that he's been re-programmed over and over again. Is Dean the first human he's bonded with? Did Cas come close to falling before? Don't get me wrong, I adore the Cas episodes we did get (Lily Sunder Has Some Regrets being another of my favourites) but it's such a waste of a great character/vehicle for interesting storylines.

The demon blood explains why Sam didn't get infected in Yellow Fever. 😕 Poor Jimmy. ☹ This is so tragic for that whole family.

as much as I Love Cas I felt incredibly sad for Jimmy he deservers the world

What do you figure that the power of the demon blood is making him addicted? With Ruby practically his dealer. My guess is after he was bled by those ghouls in the last episode, Dean patched him up and got him a transfusion that robbed Sam of his power. Thus giving him withdrawal symptoms similar to when addicts go cold turkey. 12:27 Oh that is freaking SICK! 13:53 You definitely want to know what it is he found out now. 14:42 YES! sure angel's need consent to possess someone but it doesn't have to be informed consent or even entirely willing consent. the line between angels and demons is really much thinner than either of them, particularly angels, really ever want to admit

I would imagine that for an angel, a human's mortal life holds very little significance compared to their soul's eternal rest in Heaven. A human lifetime would be just a blink to these ancient beings. And they can't completely (and it seems aren't even allowed to begin to) understand what life even is to a human. Angels are punished for having emotions ("the doorways to doubt"), so how could they understand the extreme emotional experience that a human life is? Like the emotional bond between a child and their parent. Clearly angels do feel to some degree, we see connections between them, and we see them feel - longing, camaraderie, anger, disgust, etc. They just aren't allowed to feel freely, and perhaps can't feel entirely like we do, having no body of their own. Maybe they feel more in a vessel than in their true form? It's all really interesting to think about!

Seeing this is in hindsight has a different impact now. It is a different kinda of episode in a way focusing on someone beyond the brothers. But I totally forgot that ending!

Hopefully this doesn't come across In the wrong way but you look absolutely stunning in that dress 🤘

It always bugged the shit out of me that Jimmy's wife didn't believe him about Castiel, when she saw with her own eyes his arm in a boiling pot of water, and he was unharmed.

@@aimeem it's proof of something supernatural going on. There are no other reasons I can think of, lol. That water was full on boiling and his arm was in the pot up to his elbow. His skin would be hanging off and he would be screaming, there's no way around that.

Wow, if this episode says anything it's that one Misha Collins is an amazing actor and two old Cas was so unsympathetic in genaral. Even to Claire someone that he should care at least somewhat about because he is taking her father away from her.
