Right? Superman is actually on my list of most despised generic characters. I noticed CW quality changed to film style when Stargirl aired. Now they are putting even more resources into Superman because it is Superman. The character is used too much in film. I also don't like Wolverine, Deadpool, Batman, Captain America, and Spiderman is getting boring as well. There are so many different characters and ideas, but the same ones seem to get used over and over. I would like to see Sentry in a film or show. I am waiting to see Dormammu more because he is one of my favorite characters. I grew up with Dragon Ball in the early 1990s, so of course I like Dragon ball characters more than Superman.

This is my favorite modern version of Superman. Tyler Hoechlin nailed it, and the script nailed it as well. Everything came up perfectly.

This Superman has redeemed himself. Tyler Hoechlin is doing a good job. He wasn't that famous from the arrowverse, but in these episodes he's becoming an all time favorite. 👍

I love how superman ❤️ quickly acted and created energy solar flare which rivals the sun using his and everyone kryptonians heat vision blasted them aways. He is smart and doesnt hold back. Also love lois shielding her sons. Awesome wholesome episode

I don't doubt that if humans were in the same scenario as the Kryptonians they'd see the inhabitants as savages to be exterminated, just like they've done for centuries before.

It’s like Superman said in Man of Steel, “Krypton had its chance.” Don’t sacrifice humans or any other race for the sake of another. It’s sad Kryptonians are extinct but they had their chance at survival but only a few were smart enough to ensure the safety of their lineage.

this is near cinema quality production and the drama quality is that of top tier TV dramas.. its incredible

hoechlin's doing a great job with this.

i remember "morgan edge" from tom welling's smallville show (2001-2011) that he is just a normal human being, who is a mob boss for the metropolis syndicate, and a childhood rival of lionel luthor.

They really improved the special effects and acting compared to Supergirl and the Flash

The aesthetics may be similar, but he tone is waaaay different. This version of Superman embodies the hope symbol on his chest...MoS was a dour, brooding, mess.

They both need their powers, Jon not having powers makes no sense what so ever, it's based on his physiology as Superman's son, the only way they can have Jon not have powers in this show is if he is adopted lol, and I don't see that happening.

Instead of Superman rejecting his Kryptonian heritage and choosing humanity when faced with choice like Snyder had Superman do in Man of Steel, Superman rejects the false dichotomy. It keeps in line Superman as an immigrant who rather than bowing to nativist demands, embraces and celebrates both sides of his heritage: his host country of Earth and his home country of Krypton.

I think it was more because superman was forced to make that decision on MOS he tried to reason with Zod and argued that the kryptonians could live on earth and adapt like he did but Zod didn’t budge.

Ironically both adaptations stayed true to the character traits. In man of steel Clark was forced to defend his home when Zod planned to built Krypton over it. While here Clark chooses to negotiate one last time because he is an experienced hero.

Loved the scene, but what about all the people that was up in the air, were they still kryptonian when they fell on the floor, or is that a flaw lol. Either way I love this show, and I’m going with them still having powers when they fell.

such a fantastic show. as most CW shows are in their first couple of seasons. Lets hope this one doesnt fall to the same curse as Arrow and The Flash did. I don't need to see Lois get superpowers and become better than Clark.

Love this show. And Supes is fucking great! The first time i saw him in Supergirl i was like meh... but now he has convinced me. Great Superman!

Never seen the show but these clips make it look like the powerless son is the MVP.

Don’t be mistaken, this is not Superman’s solar flare ability.... sorry to crush hopes as an avid fan myself lol. That is a core designed to explode and target specifically kryptonians cells with negative solar energy, once charged with positive solar energy. Hence why it drained the temp krypto of their powers and Superman for the short while. Superman’s actual solar flare ability is essentially a nuke, he can’t designate said targets as it’s a literal solar nuclear explosion. This is more of a nod to that ability, rather then him actually using what it actually is. He was only drained due to using so much of his heat vision, not from using the actual solar flare ability as it goes in the comics.

Effects just break my immersion every time

So what happened to all those poor towns people. Do they just fall to their deaths?

Exactly. John Henry Irons in the S&L version is just bent on revenge for what happened on his own Earth. Hopefully, Irons will eventually realize that the Superman of this Earth is nothing like the evil Superman of the Earth he came from.
