It is worth noting that very few companies have managed to make a quality, fun Superman game. How do you create a game with someone who is basically a god among men? He has so much power but then you have to make him vulnerable too. This is one of the few exceptions but only worked because of his various incarnations. Good run.

I don't know if i read this premise or saw it in another game, but his health shouldn't matter unless he's fighting a boss. The healthbar throughout the game is Metropolis's, due to unsafe conditions, crime, natural disasters, or less powerful supervillains. You have to stop the small shit that builds to a boss fight. If Metropolis health bar gets too low, the government/military gets involved and citizens start losing faith in you, which also draws down city health. If you hit zero, game over.

There are barley any good Superhero games in general, It has nothing to do with his powers. WOLVERINE CAN'T DIE,and he has had good games . Dope ones at that. PLENTY of Supes villains can hurt him. The game could have SO many different settings & enemies(IF they wanted to have an "excuse" to hurt him) . They could take some inspiration from the All-Star Superman story. (Luthor poisoned him) Red Sun beings can hurt him,Mongul,New Gods,Mongul,other Kryptonians(Kandor),A Brainiac invasion,etc.

Back when games were just fun. Now its all about Graphics and comparision.

He was appearing in four different comics at the time he was killed off, so DC put a different version in each one to try to get folks interested in finding out who was the real one.

It is in a major story arc, Superman met his "death" at the climax of his battle with Doomsday. During his absence, 3 people emerges whom claim the title of the new Superman (Cyborg, Eradicator and Superboy) while 1 (Steel) fights in order to continue the legacy of Superman. Superman was revealed to have survived in near death and was recovering in the Fortress of Solitude. Eventually he recovered and put a stop in the four way battle of the 4 "Supermen". He joined forces with Superboy, Steel and Eradicator in order to defeat Cyborg who is truly evil.

If you get a chance, I recommend reading the whole arc. It's brilliant. It's 4 volumes with the first dealing with his fight against Doomsday himself. The next three volumes are a tad lengthy but the second one deals with his funeral and the aftermath with how everyone is reacting to his death. Volume 3 introduces the conflicts with the different Supermen and volume 4 wraps it up and reveals Doomsday's foreshadowing (and somewhat scary) fate. There's also a fifth volume but it takes place some time afterwards and goes into Doomsday's history.

Actually I was wrong about old blue boy here he had the better ending in Injustice 2 and this is a Legendary game in the 16 bit era superman as long as there's no kryptonite around superman all the way forget batman

Why wasn't Mongul in this game?

For a game thats supposed to be closely knitted to its comic material, it's damn mediocre. 1. "Cutscenes" are bland images 2. No Mongul boss 3. Most are damn repeat battles that are practically the same

they went the batman returns (snes version) route in terms of gameplay except batman returns was way better sound effects were much better and characters were bigger

Superman's blood was 100% and he had 4 lives... Doomsday had 0% blood.. hit once each other... Doomsday dead.. and also Superman.. 😂

The people making the music for the SNES version didn't even tried.
