James Gunn's praise of Christopher Reeve's performance as Superman made me feel like he was most certainly gonna take lots of inspiration from that first Superman movie. Am not surprised at the name change. Am expecting lots of winks and nods at Mr Reeves. His photo probably gonna be on a few walls in this movie, I bet. He might wind up being Kal El's grandpa or something am sure. Thx for the vid.

Expecting a copy and paste of Superman 78. They seem to be betting a lot of nostalgia

Whoever thought of adding texture to Superman’s suit material as a way to give it a more modern aesthetic while still being able to retain the most iconic design elements was f-cking brilliant. It’s such a simple thing, yet so effective. I dunno if Man of Steel was the first to do it, if they were inspired by the uniforms from Star Trek (2009), but man it looks good.

I wouldn’t mind them stealing 2 lines or scenes from Lois and Clark. The first being when Lex is talking to Clark and Lois and says he likes having the tallest building so people have to look up to him (God complex) and later in the episode after Lex meets Superman for the first time Superman floats up above his penthouse and says “If you ever need me, just look up” And then the next scene I would like for them to steal is when a bad guy asks Superman why tights and Superman looks at him firmly and says “My mom made this suit for me”.

Superman 2025 has me hyped for more updates and teasers bc I love the Kingdom Come comic it’s my favorite comic book and now potentially seeing this is live action would be legendary plus all the characters showing up all around so I can’t wait for more news and announcements for Superman.

I’ve truly never really been a DC fan with this new era of DC coming I. Willing to give it a chance but they (cannot) screw up Superman: Legacy.

That’s right, Charlie. Inspiration for the S on the suit is from the Kingdom Come version of Superman. I wonder what Supergirl’s new suit is going to look like.

I just can't imagine that Gunn doesn't absolutely NAIL this movie. It's gonna be GREAT!

Biggest takeaway for me is that the suit visibly has TEXTURE. My problem with most live-action Superman suits is that they tend to look like flat smooth spandex with no texture.

Corenswet Superman's being a reference to Kingdom Come sets some heavy expectations. It's my favorite DC Comic book and I'll go over the movie with a fine-toothed comb when it ends. That Superman (1978) is going to be an inspiration is also going to be fantastic. The 1960s Batman being a typecast for The Batman (2022) elevated that movie. I trust Gunn to make his own epic.

I love these "reveals" like when Zack Snyder revealed Ben Affleck in his Batman VS Superman pic.

Man, I don't care about superman at all, but even I'm hyped for this movie!

Instead of Luther's assistant being Tessmacher I wish he had used Mercy from the DCAU

Chris Reeves performance like Dean Cain's as Supes, was helped by a bright colored suit, that was skin tight showing an impressive male physique, equipped with a billowing bright red cape. As Martha says in the pilot of Lois and Clark, "Well, nobody's going to be looking at your face." She was right. Bright red, bright blue, bright yellow. Clark always wears dull colors. I hope James Gunn dials up the color of the suit to fit this bright, optimistic version of the character.

I still think Brandon Routh did a fantastic job as Clark Kent/Superman and didn't get enough credit for it. This S though looks just as muted color wise as Henry Cavils suit is, which i find mildly funny due to everyone talking about him being a more positive Superman but the suit still isn't as bright as it should be imo to go with a more cheerful, optimistic, smile ridden Supes. If we're just going off the "S" that is. Plus Nicholas Hoult looks so weird bald, i had to say it.

They make colors mute because it’s easier to color grade it post production. I expect it to be more colourful than the photo

Imagine this for a twist: James Gunn's Superman is an elseworlds continuation of Christopher Reeve's Superman 1! Think about it, characters such as Otis and Eve are there, this a Superman who is still new at being a hero, and the legacy subtitle may have been refering the legacy of Christopher Reeve. It's a stretch, but just imagine if it's true. 🤩

I think James is mostly working with the same crew he did on his GOTG films and The Suicide Squad

that's too bad that Aldis Hodge isn't coming back as Hawkman, I've been a fan of him since he guest starred in Supernatural. I would have liked to have seen more of his Hawkman.

When you say camp humor, I think we're talking about the influence of BATMAN TV SERIES 1967 that was a kind of blue print for everything DC that came afterwards: SUPERMAN 1978, WONDER WOMAN 1976-1979, etc. You'd have to go way back to SUPERMAN 1959 to identify other main characteristics.

My first movie I ever saw in the theater was Superman the Movie and Superman has always been my favorite! I am very excited for this movie!

I'm not feeling the Superman suit so far. Hopefully he gets an upgrade later on.

The fact that Gunn is naming his movie Superman is absolutely huge. No other director or creator has had the balls to do it. It’s a representation of a rebirth, a calling back to the original days! I’m very interested in what will happen.

I was all for Zack Snyder's justice league trilogy until the Lois and Bruce love affair was revealed to be planned. And the main reason for that is because it's not found in any comic continuity.

Nay man, can't use someone else's theme for a completely different character and movie.

Two reasons I know the new Superman movie will succeed. For one James Gunn is actually a fan of superman, Snyder was never a fan and I believe even mocked the character at one point. Secondly, say what you want about his personal life or past, the man is a great director with one of the most creative minds working in cinema today. Even though Man of Steel grew on me over the years such that I would now score it a solid 7/10(initially thought is was closer to a 6) that is NOT what you want from the main character of the DCEU to start off with. The follow up movies all were ranging between 5s and 7s with the exception of Wonder Woman which IMO was an 8.5. Should have been at least an 8 or a 9+ as was the first Avengers movie. Hopefully now we will get the DCEU we should have gotten over 10 years ago.

Never knew Superman was a leap day baby.

perhaps JG wanted to gather the world audience - as it were - together, by naming the project SPM/LEGACY as a means of identifying the hero under an otherwise completely new name (because if he just called the film SUPERMAN from the beginning) it might have seemed just not as original, special, or something in that way. I like everything we've seen so far and am deeply interested to see how the casting for other HEROES comes together on screen. Meta and GL will be interesting to see how JG characterizes these guys - comical? serious? in GL's case, antagonistic bordering on stupid male syndrome? I don't know but I loved PEACEMAKER so....up up and....

The logos in the teaser and the leaks look different how? The lighting is different, but the shape of the S and the texture are clearly the same. I watched that multiple tumes to try to see what you were seeing. They're very much the same. Did you do some editing and use a different leaked picture than you were referring to? Also the "My Adventures with Superman" logo is the same? That logo is remarkably different. Yes, it has a red chevron for the nody of the S and it's red and yellow. The MAWS S has pronounced end points for the S, something that the James Gunn S does not.

I love the textured look of these "modern" suits. Really makes me feel like they actually offer protection as opposed to just spandex. I'm kind of over the outer underwear thing.

I wish and hope James Gunn gets the DC universe going in the right direction because it really needs it.. I really want to see The Swamp thing series reprised. I saw some where that Adam Ritchson from the TV series Reacher talking about what he thought about playing a version Batman I think he could pull it off.. I like to see Brainiac in the new Superman movies.
