Well if you watch the Justice League Cartoon. Batman calls Captain Marvel a bigger boy scout than Superman. Hell even in Young Justice, Batman always had Billy's back, he even let Billy hang out with the team because he knows Billy is going to grow up and go through teenage angst, he probably wants Billy to have good teenage influences

Before I had never taken Shazam seriously, always thought he was just some wannabe Superman with lightning powers. Him sacrificing himself to speak out and call out supermans bs has given me such a new found respect for the character. In many ways he is better than any of the other Justice League characters. It's just sad that it took his death to make Barry Allen realize they had gone too far.

Eh, not really.

I like how this shows Billy is really just a kid with powers of a God. He only joined up because he heard the joker killed lois and superman wants to kill anyone really evil. But after hearing that he'll just kill anyone who disagrees, Billy just immediately goes, "hell no" even with the "there has to be limits on us" and "have you gone nuts?" It shows he didn't understand the scope of what was happening until it was literally too late

What made this scene even more spine chilling is that you can clearly hear the struggle in Billy’s muffles when his mouth is froze

He literally killed the kid who had saved him from Zeus. What kind of maniac he is?

Raven is a 3 dimensional being and her soulself is comparable to the crimson bands of cyttorak both are used to restrain dimensional beings (cyttorak, trigon) it has extra dimensional energy.

Billy may not have been trying to hurt Superman, but turn himself back into a child. Since Superman refuses to hurt women and children, Billy may have thought reverting to normal would remind Superman of his duties. But Superman could have thought Billy was trying to hurt him, so he froze his mouth thinking he was fighting back.

Story wise this scene kinda works It shows how far gone Superman and the other members are (as they did nothing to prevent Billy’s death or barely had a reaction) and it causes flash to finally say “fuck this I’m out” and switch sides Buuuut if you’re a Shazam fan (like me) and knows how strong he is Yeah I can see why people are still pissed off

We learn after the injustice game that the reason Hal didn’t let Barry go or spoke up against Superman was because he was afraid which when after the game once he does his time and regains his will he also gained a bit of vengeance. Not to Superman but towards himself because he knew he could’ve/should’ve done something to prevent the deaths of many leaguers especially with Billy who’s really just a kid. This stuck in my head for years. Shazam is an amazing person and people really looked at him like another Superman but he had his own identity.

I’ve got a few theories on why Billy tried to yell shazam. 1. They didn’t want to show Superman murdering a child so they had him in adult form but he’s not powered up 2. He was trying to become a child to show Superman what he’s about to do 3. He was trying to summon the lightning to incapacitate Superman

@@PsychoGunzerker I'm under the impression Shazam's lightning is magic or at least harmful on contact regardless of who you are, basically he was trying to break free with the lightning he generates. I don't read the comics but this is the logical think I'm thinking. The only time i saw Shazam in action was in Flashpoint and the kids being forced to transform threw back wonder woman.

Flash was about to add his 2 cents in and probably get killed like Billy. For the first time ever Hal was fast enough to stop him ...r.i.p Billy

Realisticaly Superman has bad chances against either Shazam or Flash. Shazam is at avarage literaly on Superman's level in terms of raw power and is a magical entity on top of that. He is the de-facto mightiest mortal on Earth. Which is why his death makes no sense. Shazam can tank heat vision just as easily as Superman. Flash is someone no mortal would wanna mess with no matter how powerful they think they are.

It was at the scene where you’re really felt that superman had lost his way. Beyond planning to flatten Metropolis and Gotham city for the actions of a few, killing Billy Batson for pointing out the truth is petty, disgusting, and inhuman. What’s even worse is how many heroes in that room are drinking the same Kool-Aid and thank God Barry Allen had the sense to realize his mistakes. What makes it even colder is the fact that his behavior following killing a child shows no remorse or second thoughts. It was in that moment you truly see that this Superman is beyond redemption. He has made himself the butt of The Joker’s last punchline and he doesn’t even realize it.

@@Damienp3902 Yes, but it's normal humans who take those decisions and who (with enough luck) may have enough perspective and humanity to refrain from doing so, and even then, most countries have already abolished the death penalty due to the fact of it being inappropriate even for the most violent criminals. When it comes to superheroes, I don't mind a couple nut jobs like Castle or Deadpool going around killing the odd irredeemable villain, but the likes of Superman and Batman? Hell no. The no killing policy is esentially the superhero equivalent of the Asimov laws of robotics, take it out and shit like Injustice starts happening.

He was base-form. You have to remember this takes places decades ahead, he's no longer a child. So he has the durability of a normal human without transforming. Hence why supes used freeze breath. He more than likely could of given supes a tough fight if the others wouldn't intervene, if not outright defeated him if he managed to get that transformation off.

I guess I agree that Superman could beat Shazam if they were to fight seriously, but Shazam wouldn't go down so easily though.

The fact he freezes his mouth shut before he could say Shazam to turn back into a kid is just heartbreaking. Cuz he knew Superman wouldn’t kill a kid, yet he still did in the end 😞

This gives me chills because 1.his mouth was frozen so he didn't even get last words 2.he was in pain for at least 15 seconds before he died 3.there were 9 people in the room and not one of them said "Super man stop he is just a kid"

I feel like a reason they killed Shazam here was because he would've easily defeated Superman no problem if he turned back to the good side. "Superman's second kryptonite", wrong he isn't weak to magic just has normal resistance to it. And superman has punched much harder than that, enough to desinatgrate a whole galaxy, and he also held back true form darkseids from destroying the multiverse channeling his full power and creating a vibrational wave that canceled out true darkseids aura. Shazam would never last a second with true form darkseid, let alone his avatars. Superman also lifted the book of infinite pages, and not even Dr:Manhattan could erase him, but Dr manhattan fried Shazam and Green lantern and Wonder woman with a death ray. He also survived getting blitzed by darkseid, superman fought through a timeline being destroyed.. etc i could keep going. And death battle also said Shazam dosn't stand a chance against a bloodlust superman
